There may be stuff rehearsed on stage in sound checks, but they will also be playing things behind closed doors, so we are kind of in the dark at this point

Crystal Ballroom would work reallly nicely somewhere in that first 'innocence' part in my opinion.
And actually the bit where they have mirrorballs out just screams for Pop stuff. And Daddy's Gonna Pay or Lemon would fit there as well, though I don't see it happenning

And also The Fly inside the screen showing that classic bono-isms thing would be just
I've expressed it earlier but I just can't get this idea off my mind

U2 have now played a total of 33 different songs over the eight nights so far on this tour.

"40"(the song) plus 5 more from todays twitter soundcheck report(if true) gets you to 58 of the 60 that Edge said he rehearsed. Though even I think I'm stretching on some of these, but I do think the songs listed in the program are fair game since it included/verified Playboy Mansion. Or does Stuck make it 59?

Let's see and go ahead and count anything played as being "rehearsed" as they surely were it would seem.

- 37 songs have been played in full counting yesterday's debuts of Elevation, Stuck In A Moment, The Ocean and 11 O'Clock Tick Tock. 37 total.

- 2 more songs were rehearsed and have later been snippeted in live shows (Moment of Surrender and The Hands That Built America). I include them here because the intention for both could have always just been for them to work as snippets. 39 total.

- I have an 11 song list at the top of my previous post that now drops to 10 given the appearance of Elevation today. 49 total.

- Your list from "Velvet Dress" to "Sleep Like A Baby" adds another seven tracks. 56 total.

- And then An Cat Dub was rehearsed before yesterday's show. 57 total.

That's an insanely large arsenal for them to have right away at this point in a tour.

Was IGC actually on the printed setlist?

Edge seemed to know the intro riff as soon as Bono "suggested" it.

I wonder if they plan to play Sleep Like a Baby, Soldier or Ordinary Love. Such great songs, they deserve a place in setlist or in rotation at least.

That 21 year period from 1992-2013 is still looking bone dry at this point. They've performed a total of six songs live from that span. They've played and rehearsed as many as that from the Boy-era alone.

October needs some attention, though.
Rejoice and Gloria would be incredible to toss in early with the boy tracks. Tomorrow would be great paired with IWF and Iris.

I have a lot of posts I need to write about the concert experience and setlist rotating candidates, but I do think that Gloria should be added to the first set. It's not only an early tune, but it would serve an important purpose by representing the band's entrance into spirituality in their early days.

I think they should rotate out 11 O'Clock Tick Tock with I Will Follow. A night can have one of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock/I Will Follow and one of Out of Control/Electric. Co.

New Year's Day should sub out with SBS. End NYD with a piano line from the song and lead it into Raised By Wolves. Or they could go RBW > NYD by having the piano line in RBW appear at the end of the song and transform into the piano line for NYD.

40 makes a good show closer on stands with more than two nights. Bad should probably be a fourth closer on stands of four or more nights. That would work well.

Numb?!!?!?:hyper:

In the words of Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber: So, you're sayin' there's a chance...:applaud:

Even if they play if, how long before fans complain that the song is boring live. I think it might be at the bottom of original songs I wish to hear sung by Edge, and ZooTV is my favourite u2 period.

On May 12th(the rehearsal with fake Larry) they did a song not on any 2015 list before running the full set that evening. I'm only 30% sure(done at lower volume) so I'm not going to mention it by name, but it's a song they did full band on ZooTV many times. It blows me away that 100 of the world's biggest U2 fans could hear but none of them caught it.

It's really annoying the lack of soundcheck reports after Vancouver. Springsteen fans got them when he played the same venues.

Is there any audio from the rehearsals of Volcano, Reach, or SLABT? Or Playboy Mansion? I stayed off the forum to avoid spoilers until the San Jose shows, now I'm catching up on what I missed.

I heard Playboy Mansion in Vancouver, but the volume was pretty low outside the venue during that session - PM is also cited by name in the tour program. There's no known live versions of Sleep/Reach but Volcano was done on Jools Holland's show full band in November.

I'm not sure we should be counting In God's Country and When Love Comes To Town towards Edge's "about sixty songs" claim. WLCTT obviously only came into the picture on 15 May after BB King died. IGC seemed to be a massive shock to Edge when Bono decided to play it in Phoenix - just look at his facial reaction. It wasn't on the printed set and you'd assume that if they were working on it, they would've tried to nail it the next night.

I'm also sceptical of placing much stock in what's scrawled essentially as artwork in the tour programme.
