skip the green beer have a guinness
Here is my recipe for Irish Soda Bread
2.5 cup flour
1.5 cup raisins (soak them in boiling water for a few minutes to plump them up then drain well)
5 tbs sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
sift (though I never do) the flour soda baking powder and sugar
Cut in butter until it looks like coarse crumbs
Add raisins and buttermilk
Stir until combined
Shape into a ball- I notch it so I get the scone triangles
place on a greased sheet or pie plate
Bake for 15 minutes at 400
30 more minutes at 375
It's super easy to make

Make that three. I'll be doing exactly the same on St. Patrick's Day as I did on St. Andrew's Day, as I did on St. David's Day and as I did on St. George's Day-nowt.
Who's the patron saint of the USA? Do you guys do anything on his day?

Headache in a Suitcase said:green beer on st. patrick's day nothing but bud lite with food coloring.
for shame.
irish drink black (actually a very dark ruby red but no realizes that so we'll stick with black) beer with a white froth, not green but lite
