Refugee
Born in the streets of Paris
No one to look after him
Passed from one soul to another
He makes their world so grim
First he’s an orphan
Then a slave
Then a pet
Living under the stairs
They know he’s different from the rest
All the scents running through his head
He can smell them all but one
His own cause he has none.
He has none.
Explores the city by night with his nose
He can see through darkness without any light
Catches the whiff of a pure odor
The scent of innocence
He follows the scent
To a girl of red hair
Halving plums
He cuts off her air
They know he’s different from the rest
All the scents running through his head
He can smell them all but one
His own cause he has none.
He has none.
Lives inside his own black hole
Lying still in the mountain’s cold
Finds a shack to settle in
Learns the secrets to his sin
Makes a scent that all adore
Everyone loves him more and more
Grows tired of being able to win
Torn apart by those who worship him
I wrote these lyrics after I read "Perfume" by Patrick Suskind. It's a good but very weird book. Hope you guys enjoy it.
