it's go time...

like i've said all along... i root for the red sox too in the al because i only live about 90 mins away from boston. gotta root for the home town team, and also have to root against the yankmees.

so yes, yes i am a red sox fan...but its not in the closet

and if the cards/sox played in the ws, there'd be no doubt I'd root for st louis just fyi before you came up with that question.

Meh. What have the Yankees won lately?

they won 101 games this year... won the ALCS last year...

tell me... what have the Red Sox won lately?

Yeah, I'm sure the Yankees really treasure their 2003 AL championship trophy.

As far as I care, the Yankees are just another team that didn't win the World Series last year.

Or the year before that.

Or the year before that.

An intersting thing about this series.
Yanks have home field and 86 years of cursedom bs on their side, yet in Vegas the Red Sox are a rather substantial favorite in the series betting line. (about a 150-170 favorite in most places for those who understand baseball betting odds)

Well, I'm sure the Red Sox really treasure whatever exactly you get for winning the wild card.

kinda set yourself up for that one, didn'tcha

I think the Sox are in a better position to win a series due to Schilling/Martinez combo (Yanks starters are eratic to say the least). but you know that the Sox will crumble once the yankee stadium ghosts come out......

this is coming from a New York Mess, I mean Mets fan.

Yankees fans often boast of their team's 26 championships and mention something about various undead beings inhabiting their stadium.

Myself, I find it amusing that Yankees fans convince themselves of their team's superiority by comforting themselves with memories of the ancient past (and by ancient past, I mean 2000). Kind of like Sharon Stone reminiscing about the days when she used to be hot.

My predictions:

Game 1: New York 5 - Boston 3
Game 2: Boston 3 - New York 1
Game 3: Boston 8 - New York 2
Game 4: New York 4 - Boston 3
Game 5: New York 7 - Boston 5
Game 6: Boston 3 - New York 0
Game 7: Boston 6 - New York 5 (11 innings)

Bet on it.

this ain't april, this is october. if the series goes back to new york, the red sox will lose.

if the red sox and astros meet in the world series, the winner will be who's manager can screw up the least. garner and francona are both asleep behind the wheel. but it certainly would be interesting to see clemens on the mound in game 7 @ fenway... too bad the sox won't get that far. what'cha gonna do

You went back to 1908. This isn't the Cubs, you know.

if the red sox are gonna win, they need to win in 5... if it goes back to yankee stadium, they will lose.

I'm going to quote you on that when the Sox win in 7.
