I'm curious to ask what this means, but am also scared to know.
a dude from Peter, Bjorn and John
Franz Ferdinand in 2009, on the strength of their first two albums, was my best U2 opener.
Muse was probably the worst.

I don't think we should be all that excited about this new Slowdive album.
I see no reason why we shouldn't.
Re: Ride, I'd be pretty satisfied if they just rehashed the fabulous opening two albums. Carnival of Light had a couple of good moments but there's no reason for them to go there again.
(mbv )
I've somehow managed to see Ride and Slowdive, so I'm mostly excited about these reunions for the new music. There have been plenty of solid comeback albums this decade, even in the world of shoegaze (mbv ), so I don't expect any half-assed excuses to tour from these bands.
Hell, Slowdive left off with Pygmalion, which was damn good.
The new Flaming Lips album is now out.

They were massive in the early 80's. Was the 3rd concert I ever saw as a teen. So, ever since the HOF announcement, I've been re-acquainting myself with Journey - their hits anyway. I know it's cool to not respect Journey at all and think of them as just an 80s corporate power-ballad-heavy arena rock band. Of kin with Foreigner and the like.
But I tell you what, the sheer volume of huge singles they put out between 1978 and 1986 is impressive, and those songs themselves are just undeniable if you have any like at all for hook-driven arena rock. Their "Greatest Hits" is a parade of pop culture touchstones. I mean come on...
Wheel In The Sky?
Separate Ways?
Any Way You Want It?
Only The Young?
I'll Be Alright Without You?
Who's Crying Now?
Lights?
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'?
Send Her My Love?
Faithfully?
Open Arms?
and of course, Don't Stop Believin'?
(not to mention Perry's Oh Sherrie)
I mean, I'm not in a huge hurry to dig into their actual albums, but that's a hell of a run of singles.
And Steve Perry is a legend. I'd love to see him re-unite with the band at the HOF induction. I wouldn't bet on it though(and from what I read, the band is open to it, and if it doesn't happen, it's entirely because Perry doesn't want it to).
I hope that doesn't mean Kenny Loggins is getting into the HOF too...
I'm still tepidly excited. I really enjoyed their last one a lot...still not listening to the singles.I listened to the new AFI song yesterday. It was pretty forgettable.
Certainly not without Messina.
Can't wait to spend more time with it.The new xx is really good. That first track.
