I'm 6'1" and hovering around the 205 mark in weight. Which would be fine if I worked out and that weight was from muscle mass. But I have padding. My healthy weight according to a nutritionist I knew should be around 175-180. But yeah. Wine, beer, pizza, burritos, etc. It all has caught up with me.

I was underweight my entire life up until about three years ago when I got mono and had to stop all activity for two months. Now I'm a healthy weight. I'm 5'8" and weigh between 145-150 pounds depending on the day. When I was running regularly I was about 140 pounds. I'm really a little more regular exercise and some minor dietary tweaks from being in excellent shape, but I'm running out of time for Bonnaroo. Need to find that motivation somewhere.

My house is an interesting mix of body types: my one roommate lifts all the time and is in sick shape, I'm out of shape but genetically thin, and the other roommate is quite overweight.

I'm terribly embarrassed by my weight and most people would assume I'm near death if I disclosed what it was. But I've been underweight since birth and have never really come close to having a normal weight, ever. I get by.

BUT BRAH YOU GOTTA BULK

My problem is - drinking jacks up your blood sugar because you're taking in a ton of carbs. So you get into the habit of drinking ten beers twice a week (especially considering I have no idea when to stop.) So I haven't drank much since the end of 2013, and packed weight on because I get really horrible cravings for sugar. Of course, packing weight onto my frame makes me sad, which means I drink more...etc etc.

Did he actually imply she lost due to racism though? I thought he only questioned the artistic integrity of the Grammys which is laughable in its own way of course but not quite so bad. I'm not American so I can't judge the general climate surrounding racism that well. What I'm trying to say is that I may be way off the mark here.

“At this point we tired of it because what happens is when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats in music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration."

Sure sounds like he's crying racism to me. Not that bluntly, but "we tired of it" is definitely a loaded expression.

Since we're playing this game...somewhere between 5'8" and 5'9" and about 165lbs. Out of shape and a good 15-20 lbs overweight, but not out of breath after carrying a 40lbs bag up 4 flights of stairs and fairly functionally strong for picking up fat people at work. I'm ok with the fact that when I have to replace clothes it's because they've died due to the fact that I've been wearing them since high school, and not because I've gotten too fat to fit into them.

I did ditch about 20 lbs in the past year re-quitting drinking soda and eating a little less bad.

I'm going to tell you all about how much I was enjoying the Old Firm Causals' album This Means War. It's probably the best album that came out last year. Way better non-Rancid stuff from Lars than either of the Bastards albums were (and that being said, I still love the 1st one of those).

What the hell is going on in this video?

Definitely NSFW.

Speaking of which, Miley Cyrus entered a music video into a porn film festival today.

I have stuck to my "New Year's Resolution" pretty well so far this year, and I have been exercising every day/eating better. I started the year at 5'1" 168 pounds,up 17 pounds from when I lost a bunch of weight two years ago /sigh. However, I'm down to 161 now, so things are going pretty well. It's just a matter of being more consistent with myself, and the fact is that when I quit my job back then, I just didn't have the time/energy to keep up with it, which is a horrible excuse. Hopefully things get better.

Unfortunately...I didn't want to say anything because I was hoping I got better news, but I was actually let go from my job last week. Friday's my last day. There was a chance I was going to stay, but it just didn't work out. I have an interview somewhere else tomorrow, so hopefully that works out. Really bummed out that this happened, but it is what it is, I suppose.

Totally listening to Magnetic Fields right now, gang. They're basically the best.

Avatar change in honor of the discovery of my favorite Greg Dulli-related project.

Fuck, Blackberry Belle is good.

Ah it's OK. It's the nature of this field, I have a few leads on things, just hoping it doesn't take too long for something to pan out.

My favorite post-Whigs Dulli album, but I still give the edge to Black Love. I'm not sure there's anything on Belle that tops Crime Scene, Part One or Faded. Or Bulletproof.

There's no way to overrate the contributions of Rick McCallum's guitar work.

Faded keeps the race very close. That's the best Dulli-related track, if nothing else.

Is the Twilight Singers' covers album good? I liked Uptown Avondale pretty well.

Oh god yes. Prob the second best thing under the Twilights name.

If you liked the Avondale EP I would also check out the one for What Jail Is like, which also has some good classic covers. Also the Bonnie & Clyde EP from the Black Love sessions. Their version of TLC's Creep is essential.

TLC's Creep is one of my favorite songs of the 90s, so I had to check that cover out first.

Yum. That is some nice wah.

Late to the game here, but seriously: Fuck Beyoncé, fuck Kanye, and I guess fuck GAF too.

I've never liked the former, and her outraged fans are awful. Kanye has definitely gone too far this time, and I don't even give a shit about Beck anymore. The idea that Beyoncé lost due to racism 15 years after the (far more talented) Lauryn Hill won the top prize or 10 years after the (far more talented) OutKast did is laughable. And, you know, BEYONCÉ HAS ALREADY WON 20 GRAMMYS. Madonna never won AOTY either. Get in line.

qftmft

Last time I saw the Whigs (1998), Dulli introduced a lot of the songs with snippets of covers, revealing the inspirations behind them. Stevie Wonder's Superstition, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Dear Prudence, and a couple Prince songs were all cited.
