Ax, have you heard of a band called Mayhem?
It's a bit off the main road from Koo Wee Rup to Leongatha, so maybe not? About halfway between Nyora and Strzelecki.
Yeah, the fish have done surprisingly well for themselves. The other sick one was still alive this morning, he was just resting at the bottom of the tank, but now he's gone and moved and I can't find him. He's proven himself spectacularly good at wedging himself in all kinds of hard-to-find places in the stones.
I know the Australian tour kicks off on my b-day
Too bad I couldn't be down there to rawk out
Making a pumpkin pie .
Now to figure out what to do with the leftover filling.
No pumpkin muffins?
No pumpkin muffins?
OMG pumpkin pie. It looks good too! Bravo.
You know what else is good? Pumpkin scones.
(Yes, I know you think pumpkin is the food of Satan, Ax. Therefore it is METTOOOOHHHLLL and awesome. )
You listened to a Gin Blossom's album? even I wouldn't...no...maybe I would...but still.
I dunno if we're still doing this...
And I thought I had a Reggo quote selected ... anyway, yes, I am well familiar with Mayhem, as they were one of the definitive black metal bands from the Norwegian scene, and certainly the most infamous. Lo-fi and gruesome.
I was expecting clever lyrics about the identity principle or matrices or something.
What do you think of The Bats?
Love The Bats! One of the best bands from the Dunedin Sound (despite the fact most of the band hails from Christchurch). Daddy's Highway is one of the seminal Kiwi albums, and no wonder with songs like Treason, North By North, and the title track.
LOLz! Daddy's Highway is the album I've got queued on Grooveshark. Ha, what luck. After yhat it's either Long Division by Low or Slaughter of The Soul by At The Gates.I can vouch for Daddy's Highway being a great, catchy album. One of the favorites that Axver has recommended to me. Treason is the best track, but it's all in jangly fun.
Math rock is so named for its complex musical structures, like its atypical and often start-stop rhythms.
[...] and although I haven't heard it yet, people talk highly of Battles' Mirrored.
Happy Birthday, Ali!
I was awakened by god knows what at some ungodly hour, tried to get back to sleep but my brother decided to wake the house up at half past some ungodly hour. I didn't sleep Friday night (staying over at Dave's was a disaster) and I have to be to work early today. And of course my mom can't get up with him because...um...she doesn't want to? I don't know. All I know is I'm very tired, I get weird with sleep deprivation, and I'm posting on the superthread before 7 am. Dear FSM, I think I've taken up Axver's former mantle as Superthread Addict.
