I couldn't tell you how many times on this other board that I go to, that I've seen people list them as progressive metal.

The only PT songs that I would consider metal in style are Orchidia, Futile, Wedding Nails, Strip The Soul, and Anesthetize. Oh, and maybe a couple of other rarities like Mother And Child Divided too. Though the recent albums I think show a kind of prog rock take on the metal atmosphere and aesthetic.
