I think this is the first time the Cavs have been .500 since LeBron left. Also might be the last time for a while.

This is the most James Harden play of all time

Push off
Jump into the defense
Flail arms while jumping into defense
Get pissed that you didn't get the bail out foul call
The reaction is almost better than the actual event.

Well, a week in and I'm still paying attention, at least trying to watch these recaps on YouTube, which are a real convenience. White does look very exciting, it's nice to have that again.

Very frustrated by the close losses, but it feels a lot more competitive than what I saw last when I watched last season.

Tim Duncan's not walking through that door
If you mean a superstar who will stay with the same team for his entire career, cause almost zero issues, win 5 rings and be a top 10 player of all time, be the best power forward to ever play the game and (sorry Kobe stans) be the best player of the post Jordan pre LeBron dominant eras?

Sure, probably not.

The next two drafts are supposed to be some of the deepest talent pools of all time. 2020 has 5-6 possible top overall pick candidates, while 2021 should be more or less a double draft class if all goes to plan regarding the elimination of the one and done rule.

It's a good time to suck.

Just mean there's no 1 obvious prize like Duncan that year or Zion last year or Lebron in 2003...

Rick Pitino might still have a job if there were a half dozen such prospects way back when

Let's not get crazy now.
He drafted finals MVP Chauncy Billups and couldn't figure out how to use him, trading him before his first season was over, and he chose Ron Mercer over the likes of Tracy McGrady with the 6 pick that year.
That draft could have featured Duncan, Shaq, LeBron, Kobe, Vince Carter and Kevin Garnett as the top 6 prospects and 15 second Ricky would have found a way to fuck up having picks 3 and 6.

Whomever they gave up was bound to look like the one they should have kept because

a) the Lakers ability to develop young talent over the past few seasons, even predating LeBron, has been horrific

b) LeBron's presence guarantees that whomever stayed will be stashed in the corner and asked to make open shots when called upon and not to much else.

case in point... the lakers gave up these guys plus a kagillion picks to get AD (who's hinting about signing in chicago next year, which will throw GAF for a loop.. alas)

Brandon Ingram – 25.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 4.3apg
Lonzo Ball – 12.4ppg, 6.7apg
Josh Hart – 13.6ppg, 7.6rpg

that looks like a lot... but, ya know, ya got AD - who's a monster when healthy.

but a laker team that will go only as far as their depth can carry them gave this up over the past two seasons for absolutely nothing in return...

Thomas Bryant – 12.5ppg, 9.7rpg
Mo Wagner – 11.7ppg, 4.5rpg
Ivica Zubac – 9.0ppg, 6.3rpg
Julius Randle – 13.4ppg, 10.4 rpg

and sure, why not...
Brook Lopez – 10.3 ppg

People talking shit about the Lakers even when they're in first place in the West and look really really fucking good. So funny.
