Blue Crack Addict
New Mogwai and Alcest on the same day.
Me happy.
Me happy.
Can't wait to see them on tour in the US. I've only started listening to them a couple of years ago, and have never had a chance to see them. I hear the concert setting is where they really shine.
Great album as well. I actually think they improved without the metal influences.Alcest
I've only heard Young Team but really enjoyed it. I guess I wouldn't be Cobblering it by listening to this.
Thanks to everyone who bought our new album Rave Tapes this week. It's our highest ever charting album in the UK and our first Top 10 record.
So I listened to all of Mogwai's regular studio releases today whilst studying, bar The Hawk Is Howling (which I still haven't heard) and Rave Tapes (which I've listened to quite a lot the past few days).
And because I know you've all been waiting for this, I'll go ahead and rank them.
1. Happy Songs For Happy People
2. Young Team
3. Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will
4. Rock Action
5. Come On Die Young (haven't listened to this one much so my opinion on it may change in the future)
6. Rave Tapes
7. Mr. Beast
I can honestly say I enjoy all those albums.
The best Mogwai songs I heard today:
Tracy
R U Still In 2 It
Ex-Coxboy
You Don't Know Jesus
Hunted By A Freak
Killing All the Flies
Ratts of the Capital
Travel Is Dangerous
We're No Here
Death Rays
Letters to the Metro
Mexican Grand Prix
Then I know what to get next. I haven't listened to any of their soundtracks or EP's, bar Earth Division which I enjoyed a great deal actually. They're one of those bands where I can honestly say I've liked everything they've done (though that Earth Division EP is pushing it). I think their soundtracks and collections are pretty much just as good as most of their official albums. Ten Rapid and EP+6 are pretty much essential, and I'd rank Zidane and Les Revenants soundtracks as being nearly the same quality as most of their albums (The Fountain being slightly less enjoyable for me personally).

SO AWESOME. These guys really are one of my all time favorite bands, everyone needs to see them live at least once.
