Thanks for the updates!

Heading out from Chicagoland in a few minutes. Long drive, got my 5-Hour Energy ready.

Hope the GA line is drama free.

Anyway, looking forward to my last 360 show. :hyper:  :hyper:

Here's to U2 for a fabulous tour. :applaud:

Holy Shit!....I could barely sleep last night, SO excited, today will be a great day but tomorrow.... tomorrow will be EPIC. Thanks for all the info I gathered on the threads. I'm coming solo from CO and expect to make many friends in GA line. My name is James. I've only been to 2 U2 concerts, Joshua Tree in WA and Vertigo in Los Angeles. Missed em in Denver (backyard of Glenwood Springs,CO) but MN here I come, humidity, lightning, thunder, bring it if you must, could care less ! I get in at noon Sat(best I could do) but onto the GA line from there after stop at hotel to drop what little I'm bringing... too bad I'm not able to stash my stuff close to stadium and crash there later but so be it. See you all soon ! WOOOOOHOOOOOO:rockon:

Couldn't agree with you more about tomorrow being EPIC. I will be late to GA line as well (coming from airport - no baggage!), but at least I'll be there for my last show this tour on the floor with other great peeps. This is over #30 for me and I'm as excited as if I was going to my first U2 concert. Back when I started, there were no blogs to speak of, and if there were, I didn't know about them. The energy here is awesome and has surely added to my excitement. Wish I could meet y'all ... safe travels everyone! Let's do this! :bono:

Wow, this show is all over the news and radio. Getting ready to head out soon, must be epic cause my DD said "I am excited about the show" just about knocked me over

May try to stop at the get together later on, other wise see you in the GA line. :applaud:

70% chance of storms tomorrow. That blows....as some could be severe.

Let me make this quite clear: As I said in my first post, if you're doing GA, fully expect to clear the field at least once after entry into the stadium tomorrow night. I certainly hope they don't have to, but if you expect the worst and something better happens, it works out pretty well.

Hopefully once the storms end tomorrow night, it's OVER. It may mean a late start for the show, but if that's all we have to deal with, then so be it.

leave the field after admission? That's the ultimate clusterfuck. I thought the top of the claw (the little cross thing) was a lightning rod.

They should just wait for the storm to pass over, admit us late onto the field (so less baking in the hot sun), skip interpol, and let Bono apologiize by playing Heartland :D

I agree that clearing the field after admission is hardly the ideal choice, it all depends on the timing. If the storms come at such a time where delaying entry is all they have to do, great. However, if the storms don't start until after Interpol is done, do you think the U is going to leave seven thousand people on am exposed aluminum platform during a lightning storm?

Hmm, I wonder when the last time lightning struck a concert stage.... I don't think I've ever heard of that happening. Anyone ?

Hey... TOMORROW we're seeing U2 !!!!! :applaud:  :hyper:  :bump:

What's on the short list for your GA line pack ? It's been many years... poncho, water, camera, phone, money, shoes, shorts, light colored shirt, granola bars, ticket. What else ? Thanks !

well it appears my brother and i are going to try and sneak into the GA area, hoping they use a ticket system to get into GA instead of wristbands

Looks like the TCF stadium peeps have no interest in any lines forming prior to 6am tomorrow. Chris, the guy that has been mentioned here, posted this on the U2360 MPLS TUESDAY evening:

TCF Bank Security got a hold of me today regarding the lineup for this weekend’s show. Here are the details:
1. No lines may form prior to 6am Saturday. ---Now we all know this doesn’t hold true very often.
2. University security has been ordered to patrol the stadium grounds and out laying streets to pr...event unofficial lineups. This is due to the heat wave that is happening in the MSP area.
3. Everyone will be re-numbered Saturday morning with a secret marker after 6am.
I take this as CSC (TCF Bank security) effort to crack down on our lineups.
I will be “in the area” starting Wednesday. If you wish to lineup secretly, please call me at 763-227-0805 and I’ll meet you in the area of the stadium to take your name, id, and give out a number/stamp

What do you mean by sneaking in? If you are talking the GA line it ain't gonna happen.. This is a big no no..

And no.. they always use wristbands to get on the floor So unless you know someone who works the venue that would be the only way in..

If you have seats then just stick with that.. Don't be a jerk about it.:huh: If you want GAs go walk around the GA line and see if anyone is selling any and do it legitimately...

no not sneak into the GA line, but into the GA area. I got tickets in the seats but would love to get on the floor if possible, and am hoping for a no wristband system. I have yet to be to a concert where they used the wristband system so i have high hopes.

2:00 Update

-You GAers are going to boil tomorrow. At least there are now port-a-johns lined up from one end of the GA pen to the other.

-There are now two computing GA signups. The fella is still on the plaza by Gate E, but there is another guy with a notebook and pen on the other end of the stadium, at 23rd and what used to be the Transitway.

-Lots of foot traffic around the plaza taking pictures of the technological terror that is The Claw.

My last update before heading to the Leaning Tower.

as I said.. all the shows have had wristbands for the floor.. I mean how else would security be able to distinguish between seated people and GA? I mean c'mon.. seriously..

I would like to know what shows have you been to of U2 stature where they didn't use wristbands.. ? Shows with this many people: 70k and up are always done this way..

As I said already. Go buy GA tix if you want to be on the floor.. Check TM for a GA ticket drop there always are at least one and if not go walk the GA line and try and find someone selling GAs.

i'm just saying a few pages back people said some shows used wristbands, the others used ticket stubs to get back to the GA area. i've only been to shows that used ticket stubs to get to GA (been to 100+ shows in my short life) so it seems that there is a chance of no wristbands.

I searched all parts of this thread, so forgive me if this has been mentioned elsewhere.

We are staying in downtown Minneapolis and plan on taking the bus from either the Marriott or Brit's Pub to the show. Can any of you locals tell me what is the best bus to take? (least amount of stops, closest drop off to the venue). I did check the Metro Transit site and it looks like #3, 16, 50 will get there, but didn't know if someone had the inside scoop on the best option.

We have GA but will be hanging out by the soundboard for this show, so will plan to leave downtown at 5:45 or so. Do you think it is realistic to leave at that time and arrive at the venue by 6:30 (allowing for volume, construction, etc.).

Any advice would be welcome!

Enjoy the show all, hopefully the GA line situation works out and the weather is ok. Should be an awesome night! :hyper:

16 is your best choice of buses. Runs on 4th Street in downtown, and will drop you right by the stadium.

Were any of these 'supposed 100 + shows' a U2 show? Cuz I have done many U2 shows GA since they started doing GA (elevation tour) and have never not had a wristband for the GA floor.

So, my aunt is now the 2011/2012 Minneapolis Aquatennial Senior Queen!
She won, and I'm glad I was there to escort her. It's a big deal for her because there is all sorts of travel and charity things involved in it for the coming year.

Anyway, that was my afternoon. Back to U2.

Everyone is here. The lobby of the hotel if full of Interference peeps!:hyper:
