yeah, usually with dave's family I kind of sit around and :silent:
'cause they're all really catholic and conservative and I'm pretty not on both issues, and I really don't want to get in arguments with his family yet.

my roommate just found out her sister is pregnant. one of my other house mates just found out her brother proposed to his girlfriend. one of my other housemates is engaged.

I'm like "aaah, my data is due tomorrow!" and I called some people on my list of people to annoy to take the survey, and one was like "can you email it to me?" and I was like "yes, yes I can" and she hasn't emailed it back and I'm like "aaah!"

And then I used "like" again. Like, totally.

And here are some pics from my trip to Cape Cod... well, the first one is actually from Martha's Vineyard. From a place called Aquinnah (used to be called Gay Head but they changed it back to the Indian name about 4 years ago... wonder why!) These cliffs are 150 ft high... but the thing about them is the amount of erosion they suffer... only 100 years ago they were over 400 ft high and they stuck out a couple hundred yards more into the water... I found that really interesting. Hope you do to lol

This is a sign that was on a dock outside of the House of the Seven Gables (which I'll show later)... I just loved it :)

Now... for the absolute highlight of the trip... WHALE WATCHING! :D On our 4 hour trip we spotted 7-8 finback whales. What was incredibly awesome was that the very first whale we saw was literally 30 feet away from me! I was stunned. Here's the pic I took of that whale...

That's from Provincetown which, as my grandparents call it, is a town for "alternate lifestyles"... it's the best town ever! lol Though not really the place you want to go with your grandparents... even if they are as hip as mine are.

And that's pretty much it... I have lots of other pics from random spots and of random things, I just posted the most important ones... my grandpa is getting his 35mm pics developed and so I might have some more pics later, depending on how his turned out.

Anyway, it was a fun trip! I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still in Ohio (until July 15) if anyone is around and wants to get together :D
 
Great pics! I use to go up to Cape Cod every year, but I didn't get to go this year. Sandwich is one of my favorite places. I love going to Heritage, it's such a peaceful and beautiful place. Well, the pretty much describes all of Cape Cod.

I went with my grandmother last time around and we went to P-town and she could not be described as "hip". SHe would see a sign like the 'Master Baiter" and ask me why I thought it was so funny. And she kept asking me what all the rainbow flags meant. Umm, not a good choice of places to go with an 80 year old.

Muahahaha, I'm so evil. Or just a genius, I can't decide.

A girl we were supposed to live with next year screwed us over and hasn't been responding to our emails about said fact. It appears, however, that she HAS found time to use pictures hosted on MY web space in her little onliney-journal. Without my permission, of course.

So my final project is due Wednesday, and in true procrastination fashion, I can't make myself work on it.

question...

since i'm no longer a part of my family (as evidenced by the fact that they're all in argentina and i'm dog/house sitting), is it fair that i get to skip the stupid family reunion to visit friends in wisconsin?
 
Laura, do you have a digital camera? If so, can I borrow it Friday, say on or before 11:30am (I could pick it up at your lab or wherever) and return it Monday morning?

and indeed, it is a happy birthday so far... I stopped at smoothie king to get some breakfast and apparently you get a free smoothie on your birthday.
I didn't have to work too hard at field school so I'm not sore or really tired.

...and now I'm confined to my room for the moment, because apparently I foiled Dave's plot 'cause I was home about an hour early, so he says I can't come out.
