i was mindlessly listening to my sister's iTunes on this computer, and i JUST now realized i have been listening to the Jonas Brothers for the past 30 minutes

I think the pointless pop still had adult themes, where today's pop is very directly marketed to younger people, girls especially. So, I think there's just not a connection to the music as much as there was to 80s pop.
