Yeah. This one wasn't a shock to me.

But Uncasville? I had to fucking look up where it is. I think that's the first time they've played somewhere and it's been so obscure I'd never heard of it before.

I'm also very surprised they've added extra shows without including a second Atlanta date or anywhere in Canada.

I just can't imagine they wouldn't do a 2nd show in Atlanta. This is quite confusing. Atlanta is one of the few shows that actually sold out somewhat quickly, and this arena only has a 13,000 capacity. The room is definitely there in the schedule. Plus they haven't been there since 2009, and there are no shows in Florida, Carolinas, etc. A 2nd show in Atlanta would sell out.

Awhile ago, somebody said there would be more NA shows in July. The cities they specifically named were Denver, Salt Lake City and Vancouver. It's actually a pretty long time between July 3rd and August 31st, so it wouldn't surprise me. Then again, it also wouldn't surprise if they just took an almost 2 month break.

Given the Mohegan Sun is saying the show is the last in the US, I'm guessing Denver and SLC are not happening.

What they really should do is a trek across Canada - Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, a first-ever concert in Saskatchewan, etc. But I imagine they want to end around NYC/New England because then the stage can be shipped straight to Europe.

I'm not really surprised at all. I think if Atlanta had officially sold out in a day or two another show would have been added. It's such a small venue that it really should have sold out in a few hours, if there was a real demand.

They are smart in not selling anything behind the stage for Omaha and Uncasville, according to the Ticketmaster seating charts. But that only means there will be a shit-ton of tickets at the highest prices.

They are selling tickets behind the stage ,they are available in the presale now.
The prices are nuts ,171 dollars plus fees for section 102 and 101 behind the stage .
Section 114 which is near the back is 325 dollars plus fees .

Yeah they claim there are $41 seats, I don't believe them.
Never saw any GA, just $325 crap or $171 behind stage crap.

I saw 1 GA for citi but it was gone when I went to grab it. Strange that you can't search for tickets lower than $171, they just randomly pop up.

Yeah, the prices of those behind the stage seats at Mohegan Sun were insane - no bargains there. I had pulled a 101 that was $177...no way I was paying that for that... Finally wrestled a Sec 23 Row J from TM for $325 but at least it's a good seat!

I found 2 GA for Omaha in like 3 minutes for my Innocence pre-sale.

This will be my 20th show since 1983, me and Larry are gonna retire after this one.

I find it stunning that there were that many unsold seats in Denver in 2015. I partly blame the fact that ticketmaster didn't sell the show. TM has a way of doing whatever is necessary to get seats filled. Whatever website that did Denver's sales probably just put the tickets on sale and that was that. But that's not the only reason. I think SOI's scandal really created a backlash.

I really think they're just charging too much. Ticket prices have continued to climb tour after tour, but now the demand is lower than it used to be. From Elevation-360, they were the hottest selling band on the planet. Now they're just a classic rock band with way overpriced tickets. If the prices cheaper, the venues would be full and they would be literally adding shows to meet demand, rather than adding shows to bleed the market dry. They aren't going to have anymore hits. SOE has performed as well as it possibly could, given the band's age and legacy. They are no longer bringing in many more fans. The JT Tour was a huge success, because it was a blatant nostalgia show.

I hate to encourage any Stones comparisons, but they're roughly at the point in their careers that the Stones were in the late 90's. Bridges to Babylon had a couple singles that got a little radio/video play, but served little purpose other than to launch another major tour. Unfortunately, U2 has come to this point, and one could argue they've been there since NLOTH/360. The Stones seemed to accept this, but they're not like U2. U2 need to create. I hope they don't stop making albums, because I really like SOI and SOE, and wish I could get 10 more albums.

Also, I read a rumor that U2 intend to play 3 shows at Mohegan Sun, with the other 2 on July 6th and 7th. Maybe... we'll see...

You're not wrong, but when you're an aging rock band would you rather play more shows at lower cost or fewer shows at a higher cost?

Never saw any GA, just $325 crap or $171 behind stage crap.

Map for Mohegan is up now....pretty much all of section 121 is available, all are $325.00.
That's a side/rear upper (more rear than side). Those would be no more than the $106 price in a regular building and likely $76.
The stuff straight back behind stage is $171 for the uppers, those were $41 in most other buildings I think.

The highest row in that upper section directly behind the stage was probably at $41, just to say "there were tickets at that price".

Sec 28, which is behind the stage is $325! That is insane... I did get a $325 ticket but at least it is in a good spot (Sec 23), especially since Secs 24-26 and 15-16 are hiked up VIP package tix.

I think literally 95% of reserved seats are $325 (or higher for the VIP Party packages).
A GA here at $76.00 would be a huge score, wonder if anyone got any (or did they all get held back for casino whales).

They not selling behind the stage in Omaha? Blacked out on the map

They're selling behind the stage, just not reflected on the map for some reason. I see a whole bunch of behind the stage tix in the available tickets column right now. In contrast to Mohegan Sun at $325 and $177, the same tix in Omaha are $76 and $41!

To the extent that marketing was a factor, it's worth pointing out that Denver ticket sales are handled by Altitude/AXS, not by Ticketmaster.

Also - even though U2 had some pretty high profile history in Denver, their recent history has not included a ton of gigs here:

1997 - 1 show at old Mile High
2001 - 2 shows at Pepsi, one on each leg
2005 - 2 shows at Pepsi, first leg only
2011 - 1 show at new Mile High
2015 - 2 shows at Pepsi

It's a bit of a chicken/egg issue in terms of whether demand went down because they weren't playing here much or vice versa, but the cumulative result was very slow ticket sales in 2015.
