Rock n' Roll Doggie VIP PASS
The rockers of late, excepting Breathe, haven't been very good. That's what's wrong with it.
Absolutely.

I like my idea better than yours.
all you pro-90sbadassattitude people are just wishful thinkers.
whatever they do from now on (and I've been saying this since hutdab was released) is going to alienate people.
they will not make a jt/ab/tuf/etc record again because no matter what they produce (people here, anyway) are going to find fault with it.
What would U2 be "returning" to? I don't think they've ever done a straight up rock album.
................
Plus, what do you think a general response would be towards an album returning to "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" by a bunch of 50-year old geezers (no offense) going to be?
U2 have done rock, pop, jazz, bluesy.
I like people like Beatles, Elton John, early Oasis and this is because their music is known as rock-pop. I hate noizy bands like White Stripes, The Who and Led Zepplin because they are non-melodic.
Strait out Rock n Roll!! YES PLEASE!!

you only like three bands
...I wish they would read ALL threads and posts in EYKIW. Something really unpredictable would happen
And as for your assessment of half ass slide solos... Edge has done a few slide solos, none half ass and all - melodic and that enhance the song. (Kite, Magnificent, Miracle Drug...) While you don't favor them, and you don't have to like them at all, calling them 'half assed' is both subjective and rude.
No, you never want a band writing songs because that's what the audience wants...
Apart from that, I'm pretty happy with NLOTH. I think it's the right album for them to make at this point of their carreer.
