Yeah, you lot will need some good music to console yourselves when the Poms keep possession of the Ashes ...!

Is going to happen if you don't get rid of Ponting and those selectors.

yes. yes i could.

the daniel gazette.

with columns from mark fisher once a week.

It make quite an appealing newspaper.

But you must give me my own column, where I write about random shit and what not.

Uh, Maths. I've never been exceptional at it, I still find it quite an achievement to get an A for it.

Year 9 maths was pissweak. Year 12 maths however. I can safely say learning about vectors has NOT been applicable to my daily life since then... :grumpy:

Maths as a discipline is pissweak - I made a concerted effort to avoid anything with numbers since I left high school, that was until they forced me to do accounting and economics as part of me Masters, which I passed by 4 marks and 1 mark respectively. The Economics pass was my grandest individual achievement.

English/SOSE

I'm decent at math. I've just come to loathe it. I don't have the patience to handle math properly... which is unfortunate, because it's probably my best subject when I do have the patience for it.

Maths and Sociology were always my best. I really do think that everyone needs a grounding in maths and economics to lead a full life. But that grounding only needs to be fairly basic.

History is where it's at, people. History, political science, and sociology at any rate. You can't properly understand the world without them.

Mathematics may have its uses, especially to specialists in particular fields, but lacks comparable importance.

Excuse me now while I go back to grumbling at my thesis and wonder why on earth I always talk up the discipline of History.

Economics trumps history re importance. Yes history is important, but in a global economy you need to understand economics to survive. History is all well and good, but it has happened and you need to survive your future

it's telling that under the current rules to get into any course bar science-related, all you need is a year 12 pass and a score of 25> in english.

I've noticed that I sometimes get frustrated while doing Maths work. Thankfully that isn't the case with English and SOSE, it is almost impossible to not get an A for both.

But I guess I gotta keep on working on my Maths, as I plan to become an architect.

I was always in the dumb Maths class:sad:

That's okay.

Ah yes, I have always had a fond interest in History and Politics and the like. Subjects like these seem right up my alley.

I agree 100%. History is how we got here, why we got here and where we´re going next. Its the most important of the lot, IMO. And I agree with you about maths - but thats probably just because im shit at it, and need some sort of defense as to the benefits of excelling at it!
