Bono flies in for visit to Lissadell
U2 frontman Bono paid a flying visit, literally, to Lissadell House on Saturday last. The charismatic singer, his wife and a small entourage flew by helicopter to the North Sligo estate and were taken on a tour of the stately home. It is not believed that the multi-millionaire is interested in buying Lissadell House himself, but a visitor who witnessed his arrival, said Bono was very interested in the house and its history. Not that Bono, real name Paul Hewson, is short of money. His band is estimated to be worth E663 million. The purpose of his visit has not been established, but Bono could be answering the call made by Minister for the Environment Martin Cullen for private sector support for the E30 million purchase and renovation of the house and its estate.
