Songs of Innocence - Album Discussion Pt.2

Cannot relate whatsoever. It gets better with each listen. Sorry it's no longer working for you. Sent from my iPad using U2 Interference

Nah, you were right the first time. It doesn't need my help. Have a drink to celebrate!

Songs of Innocence (Bonus Disc) Discussion

Add me to the list of people who think "Crystal Ballroom" deserves a spot on the main album. Gets better with every listen. Not a fan of Lucifer's Hands, but it isn't as bad as I first thought. I did enjoy the acoustic tracks, love the alternate "Sleep Like A Baby Tonight" lyrics, and although...

    Invisible...

So glad this ended up on the album, even though it's a hidden track. Still would have loved one more chorus. Maybe live?

Songs of Innocence - Album Discussion Pt.2

Several weeks with SOI now. Almost ready to write my full review. Wanted to avoid the hyperbole that accompanies a lot of my reviews (although I do still love NLOTH)... I feel stronger about this album than I did a few weeks ago. Although I could certainly live without "The Miracle," this *is*...

Raised By Wolves - Song Discussion

"Raised by Wolves" is the dark horse track on the album. It's emerged at the top of the heap, when it really didn't feel like the album had a standout track at first. I think this could eventually reach classic status. It had to grow on me. I really didn't like it at first. Now can see it being...

Invisible - Reactions Thread (Do not post song requests - Discussion only!)

Maybe, but this is a much stronger song. "All Because of You" has a forced chorus; sounded like they didn't know what to do there. "Invisible" is stronger, overall. Not classic U2 by any means, but strong enough for an album track.

Barcelona I Setlist Party, Part III

Neil McCormick tweets: "its the crowds singing that brings it home ... Bono seems angry with his suspended mic, strikes it, the crowd sing for him"

Ranking the songs after >10 days

It's a remarkable album, so this is very difficult. Today, this is the list. It will change tomorrow. And it will change again during the tour: 1) Unknown Caller (Started at the top, and has remained, although some others have gotten closer.) 2) Breathe (The live performances pushed this way...

    u2 should have done better

Man, I keep forgetting that I'm not supposed to like this stuff. What's wrong with me??? Thanks for reminding me.

    Unknown Caller appreciation thread

Yep, it does for me, too. I'm so addicted to this song (and the album). The only reason I don't loop UC that often is because there's so much greatness in the rest of the album.

NLOTH – why the album is a real masterpiece!

Interesting. I hadn't noticed the pattern of COL fans. I also find it extremely interesting that, although the vast majority seem to love the album on a whole, the ones who don't, make a very strong case, and are very definite about their stance. Fascinating. = Mark

NLOTH – why the album is a real masterpiece!

Thanks for the insight, Dana. I did not realize that. I'm definitely digging COL a lot more since I wrote the review (you can tell how often I've been listening), and now knowing its point of view, I have a better perspective. Thanks for that link, also. That is the best article I've read...

NLOTH – why the album is a real masterpiece!

My review, with thoughts at the end about what it takes to be a masterpiece. If anyone cares for an old man's (U2's age) point of view, that is

The Favorite NLOTH song poll! Which song will win?

Way, way, way, WAY too early for voting on this... But I voted for Unknown Caller...

    Unknown Caller appreciation thread

Yep, best on the album, so far. The Hands That Build America + I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, taken up to another level. Great song.

    Beach Clips Revisited

Well, for some reason, I could never get a handle on the "beach" clips. But since the 22 second clips came out, I've re-listened to the beach clips reposted on YouTube, and now they all seem very clear to me. And it's gotten me more excited for the album than ever before. Breathe - the clip...

    Rate Boots!

I grew to love The Fly, also, but although I didn't like it much when I first heard it, there was something deep within it that made me feel it was a grower. I don't find enough here to feel the same about Boots.

    Rate Boots!

I give it a 5. It was a 6 earlier today. It may get back there. They sound like a cross between Queen and Muse here, but that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if the song was much good. Unfortunately, it isn't, IMO. I never liked Mysterious Ways or EBTTRT, either (both bore me), but I...

Who out there are the Youngest and the Oldest U2 Fans?

47 and a half :D, and been a fan since I was 2 and Bono was 3. Actually a fan since 1987. And will still be a fan when they come out with All the Teeth We've Left Behind in 2040.

    Mercy videos

I love Mercy, and would love if it's on the next album. I also hope they keep it over 6 minutes.
