It looks like a low-res scan with a clear case over the cover artwork. The rings are probably just light refracting off the clear case.

per U2.com "The album cover artwork is an image of the sea meeting the sky by Japanese artist and photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto." Gotta go with that for now unless it changes.

Great cover but would've been better without the white border. It would've conveyed a more 'infinite' sea-skyscape. Now it just looks too enclosed like looking out a window rather than flying in mid-air.

If they're gonna use that Sugimoto photo, there's no chance in hell that the title will be centered but rather at the very bottom. This will give you the added effect of intitial Vertigo (yeah that's right) when looking at the bottom and then scrolling your eyes center and top to see nothing...

12 songs averaging 4:30 each and 2 songs at 7:00 each. 14 tracks total for 68 minutes released on one (1) CD. All equals typical back-in-the-day double vinyl release (2 x 32-38 minutes).

I just hope the album cover relates to the title. Otherwise it's a miss.
