We're a month out and questions remain...

-- when will proper rehearsals inside the sphere begin?

-- is the sphere even ready for rehearsals?

-- will there be a dress rehearsal?

-- what is everyone wearing?

-- will bed bugs and super herpes force Las Vegas to close?

-- is my bag too big, and if so, where am I supposed to put my fake lanyard?

-- will people mistake Clerks for the sphere and try to enter him?

-- how many more times will the lead admin of the sphere Facebook page post a link to the FAQs that starts with c://... and think people can access the document that's on his hard drive?

Let me be clear, no one will be allowed to save their spot inside me.

Hotel and flight booked now. No ticket for the Friday show before my Saturday one, but I assume there could be options there. But looking forward to October!

Is anyone else pulling a Forrest Gump and running to Vegas from 3000 miles away?

Oh I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to see that Bram who flew a bunch of miles cause Larry’s not on board

I needed a laugh today so jumped in here - thanks for all the remarks, hysterical.

The images and video sneak peeks so far of the interior LED screens at the Sphere are simply horrifying.

I hope along with the Holoplot speakers they provide each seat with a barf bag. There is more of a chance of people getting motion sickness in this building than on an airplane.

The band is going to be tiny.

The content is going to be extraordinary but not worth $1,500 for two and a half hours.

Just imaging the IMAG visuals of the band on the screen, scary.

When all the LEDs are lit, the building consumes the same amount of energy as 9,000 single family homes over the same amount of time. That is wrong.

Whoever goes to these shows please time how much time you spend looking at the screen versus how much time you spend looking at (your favorite) band. This will be disproportional so they might as well have Animal on the drums as it's not gonna matter.

The best seats inn the house will be at the back of the 100 tier where you cannot see the screen.

Isn't it ironic how one of the original themes of ZOOTV was that humans watch too much television and now U2-1 is basically playing inside a giant television (I know I know they have for years...)

Won't Bono get distracted by looking at the giant screen all around him and won't be able to focus on his teleprompter to be able to sing the songs? Or, wouldn't it be funny if someone hacked into the system and just projected his teleprompter onto the big screen?

<<remind crowd that Larry really wanted to be here...>>

<<fake playing guitar>>

<<you are in Las Vegas>>

<<smile>>

so what is it? will the content be amazing so that you can't keep your eye off the screen, or will will the content be so awful on the bad screens that everyone will be puking?

and oh! he uses a teleprompter! the horrors! so does, oh, everyone.

you're not a fan of this show. your occasional drop ins, welcome as they may be, have made that abundantly clear. and hey - maybe it'll be a disaster. always a possibility - and if that does come to pass you can come on in here and tell everyone i told you so!

but calling everyone out for being excited about seeing U2 in a U2 web forum is, well, just stupid. what did you expect? "oh, jeez, i think these shows are going to suck but i guess i'll go anyway"

for the record i paid less than $1,500 for two shows, 4 nights in a hotel and two cross country flights. but thanks for telling me how dumb I am for spending it.

... I'm still doing everything I can to go, so there's that.

My comments are a critique of the building, the current status and decisions of this band, and other factors in play such as ticket prices.

I'm not calling anyone dumb, and take no offense, this place used to be a place where people can post both informed and uninformed opinions.

If that is no longer the case, no need for me to drop in any longer to see what the four of you are saying.

Guess I hit a nerve Headache.

Apologies.

It still is, and it would be great if you stopped in more often.

In no way is this place full of a bunch of over the top, U2 can do no wrong fan boys. There's plenty of criticism - of the band, and of, well, over the top, U2 can do no wrong fan boys.

There are plenty of acknowledgements that this could go sideways, and there are plenty of critiques of U2's business decisions over the last decade plus.

But drive by postings more or less saying that we're a bunch of sheep for being excited about seeing a band we love is a bit much, don't you think?

Yeah this is a real factor. JT30 had some motion moments on the floor during the early JT tracks. I think they’ll be thoughtful, using spinning sparingly and maintaining a fairly consistent horizon in the visuals to mitigate.

The band is going to be tiny.

See also: almost every seat at a typical stadium concert with a GA floor. I think it’ll be ok except from the 400s where you’re def just watching the screen.

The content is going to be extraordinary but not worth $1,500 for two and a half hours.

Anyone who paid $1500 for a ticket and complains deserves no sympathy. I didn’t break that for FIVE tickets.

“Citation please” and I’d be curious how this compares to energy consumption of an actual *tour*

Behind all the people standing in GA?

What are your thoughts on the screen?

i would not be opposed to a t-shirt with the U2:UV neon logo on it.

i have been opposed to most U2 concert t-shirts over the last few tours, but I could rock with that. maybe minus the smurf's butthole behind it, but whatevs.

i hope they open the merch stands in venitian during the day so i can give them the $1,500 it will cost for the t-shirt and return it to my room.
