SPOILERS - Vancouver Rehearsals Part 2

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
i can't believe people are complaining already - and now you're making me start complaining about the complaining

Guess they gotta throw Fucking Elevation in there to please the dad rock masses.

You say dad rock but when that song came out I was still in school and it was a huge tune with the a lot of school kids. U2 were huge and cool in that atyclb era.

But on the other end of the scale I am a dad now so does it make it dad rock :)

Or maybe just a picture of the drum and bass (player)

22 songs is in-line with previous openings, so I believe this is what we'll get on Friday. Set will grow and evolve over the tour, which should take the form of more war horses (MW, UTEOTW, IWF, Vertigo) showing up over time.

Intro
SBS
NYD
ASOH
MLK
Pride
Streets
ISHFWILF
WOWY
Bullet
RTSS
RHMT
In Gods Country
Trip
One Tree Hill
Exit
MOTD

Like the saying goes, they had me , they lost me. At least a bit.

I like the ASOH, MLK Pride section.

But then they lost me down here... pretty safe and underwhelming selections to close out the show.

Not a complaint, just an observation and some new treatments and a new song mixed in and this could work very well.

Perhaps the thinking is One and MS are best to leverage and / or communicate some socio political narrative.

BD
Elevation
Ultraviolet
One
Miss Sarajevo

Thank you again to those posting, sharing, hanging out on the concrete to get the information out here.

Yeah I'd say my only disappointment is the post JT set, though Ultraviolet and a new song are cool. I just think there are much better options than Elevation and Miss Sarejevo. The main set looks awesome though.

Happy to see NYD there though, it was rarely played (not at all in Stockholm) last tour.

Wondering how the performances of songs like ASOH, RHMT, Trip and so on will be like. When was the last time ASOH was even played, elevation? Theres a bonus clip on the Slane DVD and that performance was so so iirc.

Yeah i am stoked to hear One Tree Hill, Exit, Running to Stand Still and so on live. :hyper:
I wonder if the reasons that prevented those songs being played the first time around, technical and otherwise will plague this tour?

If I get all of Joshua Tree and ASOH I really don't care what else they play.

agreed

but they should really ditch MS, Elevation, BD....

If they want to do a 90s encore, switch those songs out with The Fly, EBTTRT, SATS, Discoteche, Gone, Please, Wake Up Dead Man....

MS is fine only if accompanying video is DJT posing with Miss Universe contestants intercut with the women who have accused him of harassment.

But OTH, Mothers and RHMT were all shelved for various reasons.

Yeah, not sure about the situation with those,
OTH didn't show up until the last few months of the JT tour but when it did it was played almost every night
MOTD showed up a few times early in the tour but then 'disappeared' until the end of the tour when it showed up a couple of times.
Obv RHMT wasn't played at all

58 concerts for me (elevation onward), and only 7 times here.

For the win!

Do you ever wish, even just a little bit, that you took say half of the concert and travel fees and invested it in Amazon or Google over the same time frame?

Wonder what the math on that would look like on that -- probalby fund a trip to Dublin for a show or two.

I seem to have had some opposite luck -- I saw the brief (and only?) WILATW in Kansas City and the debut of Crumbs once, plus a night of taping Rattle n Hum in Denver.
