If this is it, what was the point of doing this?

Because

yeah, they're big enough to play those two without relying on new material. but why? the sole purpose of iHeart is a promotional vehicle. what are they promoting? their past? why? literally every other headliner has new music coming out or just released new music.

it would be very out of touch to go up there and play 6 old classics.

I was right, you were wrong.

Hope to God they just release the album when it's ready without any fuss, without any VR or trying to be relevent BS.

I'm tired, the set list was meh, but desire and one :D

So, do we think we get a new song at Dreamfuck...

yeah, no

Yeah disappointing but on the flip side, I just saw U2 in Vegas in the month of their 40th Anniversary...how sad am I??? Not that much.

I'm sure if you were at the show it was a great time, of course.

I've never been more adamant in my life that they should just retire. Release whatever else they were working on and just call it quits, please.

Also I love Bono having a right go at Trump but I hate him sucking off the US.

He doesn't really get it, does he. Everything was great until Trump came along!

So, I assume they're not going to do shit for the next week and wait until the day before Dreamforce to rehearse for that gig.

I would be surprised if they didn't play Streets at a festival gig. That's pretty wild...in a shitty, disappointing, horrible way.

Seriously... I think they were worried about time, songs were cut short and rushed, I guess they felt Streets would take up too much real estate.

Truly disappointing setlist and performance overall.

The only redeeming factor was that they took a pretty solid political stance on US soil at a corporate gig. I give them props for that.

Probably Bono.

Come on now, let's not get all dramatic. We're the only ones making any sort of fuss over this. No one else gives a shit, probably not even U2.

they have new music supposedly almost finished. either they fucked up spectacularly by not finishing the music on time and completely blowing an opportunity to release something with some publicity behind it, or someone in their promotion division absolutely blew it by booking this gig without giving the band time to finish the new material.

having no new songs to play at the iheart music festival is a complete failure, as that's essentially the entire point of the event. play your new shit at the radio festival in late September, which is perfectly timed as to give that new music buzz going into the holiday season. as far as I know every other artist had something new to promote.

you're damn right that nobody gives a fuck that they played desire for the 8000th time. but they had a chance to make some of those people at least give a fuck if there was a new song in there.

now if anything the only thing people will be talking about tomorrow is the mistakes. that's the last thing this band needs right now.

I'm dead serious, people probably should lose their jobs over this. what a waste.

Just think of it as a opportunity to remind people U2 are still around. Save the new songs for a real promo tour or when they're ready to drop a new album.

Yeah, just quit, cause obviously the last tour wasn't a blast, and an enjoyable experience for all involved and the band clearly have nothing left to offer us at all.

My favorite part of that angle was that iHeartRadio's twitter feed was covering all of that too. I was really surprised to see them mention any of the political stuff at all.

Lol I can see everyone will expect new music for Dreamforce and then bang disappointment again! Good ol interference! No more getting my hopes up for me!

They delivered all sorts of new music for Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and you got all upset about that.

That was by far the worst set and performance by this band that I have ever heard. They phoned it in. Just awful. They need to get their shit together or hang it up.

Great version of One. I also enjoyed Pride & Desire. But....

- Only 1 song from the past 14 years
- Blundered lyrics in BD
- Rough version of Elevation
- Messed up start to ISHFWILF
- Voice totally shot
- No new material
- Crowd leaving before they started

They totally missed a great opportunity but instead proved they are losing relevance.

Time to just accept where they are in their career and just give a shit about the fans they DO have and stop being worried about fans they DON'T have.
