I like the residency thing, there's a lot less traveling involved. You go to the city, stay there for a week, watch the shows, see the city, meet up with people. Plus, you still have chances to get ticket if you missed out during the presale and/or sale if you're around for a couple of days.

But it sucks for people who have school or jobs that don't allow someone to take a week off to travel. I go to school in Eugene and I'm gonna be pissed if they end up doing a residency in Vancouver, BC and they don't play Seattle or Portland. I just don't have the money or time to spend a week in a city which is why I'm hoping the residency rumor isn't true.

The company that runs the fan club already has a list going for customers who don't want North Side Story. You can request to be on the list by calling them. Problem solved.

Is there an email address for this? I have only 7 days left to renew and don't want another copy of the book.

Just a warning, I was in contact with them last week, telling them I didn't want another North Side Story. No problem, they said, just send us your order number. Which I did. Then the other day I got my shipping notice for North Side Story. :|

Normal email, but it takes them a long time to respond.

Call them and they will issue you a return label so you can send it back and get on the list. Calling is much easier and takes less time than trying to email.

Yes, that's true. I did a lot of individual traveling for the last two tours, which is more difficult for me because it means I have to take off certain days, then return to work, then take off days again. Since I have a teaching schedule, it drives people crazy if certain classes have to be rescheduled while others take place regularly, so I prefer the residency thing because it's like a holiday, you are away and stay away for a certain time. But for people going to school or studying, it's difficult.

Also, I don't want to be a douche but this has to be said. To everyone talking about being pissed of if U2 do this or that.

No matter whih job you have, it will always be troublesome for everyone.

Sure you can be pissed of if they do a residency, and can't take off to see either one, or all of the shows.
But it would be a bit selfish. Be glad you have a job in and that you are probably ( I hope so) be able to pay for a ticket, and travel costs in the first place.

I know I'm glad I got one, and no matter what they'll decide to do. I really hope that you , me and everyone figures out a way to see them. Residency or not. Couldn't care less.

.... and you don't have to see ALL the shows! One is enough.
You're all talking about crazy fans problems in my opinion...

Um, no, one is definitely not enough, but certainly won't go and see a hundred shows because a. I cannot afford to and b. I have to work and don't have so many days to take off. I'll wait and see what the tour schedule will look like and then try to get myself some tickets to shows that I can attend. I always like to travel places I haven't seen or haven't been to in quite a while so I can get to know the city they're playing in as well. I'd never travel to a place just to see a U2 show and I also don't like to queue up all day.

Lots of First World Problems going around here...

:D

I find it funny, but yes.

I've seen them once in my lifetime. Hopefully I'll get the chance to see them again, even better if it's in this tour, but I don't get my hopes high.

It's great that people gets the chance to see them several times not only in their lifetimes, but in every tour. I find funny/cute these arguments.

 Hope that I get to see them live for a second time as well.

I'll preface this by saying that I normally go to every show in the NYC area when they're around... which is a lot...

But the most fun I've had at a U2 show was actually on the last, delayed leg of 360, when they only made one stop in the NYC area at MetLife.

I dunno why... but knowing that it was the only time I'd get to see them that year and the last time I'd see them for a long time (at the time thinking maybe ever) just made me enjoy it more than any other show I've been to.

I'll certainly make an effort to go to as many on this tour as I can... but being the first time they've been on tour since I've gotten married... and now a kid... yea, it's just not overly realistic, nor responsible, to think that I'll be able to go to a ton of shows like I have in the past. And I'm okay with that. It'll just make the few shows that I do get to go to all the more exciting.

Same boat here. My last show was Pittsburgh 2011 and my wife was pregnant with our first. Now we have 2 kids. Combine that with the fact U2 aren't likely to come to or near ohio, and it's gonna be tight. I'm hoping I can get tickets to 2 consecutive U2 shows in Chicago, and then have that be my U2015 experience. Unless they also come to ohio, which seems unlikely,

Well, for me, this Residency thing works out well, because my plan now is to go to the first show wherever it is. And if I have the chance to see more shows without moving from that place, the better for me...

See I saved up enough money from working a summer job that I'll have enough for tickets to about 5 shows, assuming GA tickets are less than 100. But if the shows in the PNW are in Vancouver, my dad probably won't be willing to travel with me, whereas if the shows were in Seattle he would be willing to travel and if there was a show in Portland it'd be 10 minutes away. Travel expenses are what's going to prevent me from going to the residencies.

The Joshua Tree tour featured a show originally planned for Seattle but was moved to Vancouver. 10,000 tickets were put on sale for Seattle and Portland with combined bus trips. Nov 12, 1987 was a pretty sweet show none the less!

Interesting. I think I'm probably the only guy with a circle of 10 male friends who are all in their 40s, never married, no children and all die hard U2 fans. Not sure how many shows will go to or even if will all be at the same ones, but its cool that its the same group and we can get together and talk about are experiences together on the Joshua Tree Tour, ZOO TV Tour etc, or 360 tour while we wait in line to get in the building.

Foo Fighters tickets go on sale November 21st and 22nd for the USA shows that will not be in stadiums!:applaud: Either U2 tickets for 2015 will go on sale first week of December or we will have to wait until the middle of January. Maybe Montreal and Toronto will go on sale early but NYC, Boston, Chicago, and LA and other cities we will have to wait.

Based on....? The only US Foo Fighters shows announced so far are DC and Chicago, and they both went on sale already. And why would Montreal/Toronto have a different onsale than other cities?

When ever U2 tickets do go on sale, it will not be impacted by other artist especially a small band like the Foo Fighters. U2 tickets could very well be going on sale next week, the following week, December or perhaps not until 2015. Stay on the look out and be ready, especially if you are trying to get particular type of tickets at a certain price. If Pre-sales are like the other times, the first groups to get a crack at tickets may only have a window of a day to just a few hours before others get in and finally the general public gets access. So once again, stay alert and be ready.

I don't know why people would assume January when we have an extremely reliable source that told us Nov. 22. Another band going on sale isn't going to affect U2's plans. It would more likely be the opposite.
