The live version of Like Spinning Plates is one of the best things they have ever done.

I don't understand people who prefer the album version.

I like both. The live version is haunting in its beauty, whereas the studio version is haunting in an unnerving sense, almost like a nightmare. I think that they captured what they wanted in both versions.

I think it's kind of amazing that Amnesiac isn't awful. A handful of the songs are basically demos, and the only song you'd probably stick on a greatest hits is Pyramid Song. Yet, somehow, they managed to stitch those disparate elements into something something suffocating, creepy and periodically transcendent. It's a weird album, but it is an ALBUM, which is a stunning achievement in and of itself.

For the record, I never thought that mixing Kid A and Amnesiac would work. People do it though.

Tonight's set for those interested:

Bloom
Little By Little
Staircase
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
Morning Mr Magpie
Meeting in the Aisle
Pyramid Song
Nude
Identikit
Lotus Flower
There There
Feral
Idioteque
The Daily Mail
Bodysnatchers
Reckoner

Separator
All I Need
Myxomatosis
Everything In Its Right Place (with "True Love Waits" snippet)

Give Up the Ghost
Karma Police
Street Spirit (Fade Out)

I have a little bit of scrubbing up to do if I'm gonna get with it between now and November.

I think so. They were both played again in Atlanta tonight.

It also looks like "Feral" and "Idioteque" are gonna be regularly paired together.

Same, I still haven't listened to Staircase, Daily Mail, Supercollider and Butcher due to their confusing release circumstances, and I think Twisted Words really put me off the idea of stand-alone singles/released with Radiohead. I was thoroughly disappointed with that song.

That's not to say that those songs will be anywhere near as unpleasant. It's more of a subconscious lack of urgency to seek out those 4 songs.

Well their concert last was well worth the wait.

I had a great seat near the stage on Ed's side. Sold out crowd and full of energy and pot. Not sure if pot and energy go together but there was lots of dancing and swaying and whoohooing. Did the ticketless thing last night for the first time and that was a little odd. Their security measures were far more secure than the TSA's at airports!

to me the music and performance was perfection.

glad you enjoyed it and yes so worth the wait..

I heard that they are going to announce a DC date next week. finally.. They are rumored to play Verizon Center on 6/3. Hope this is true cuz I will be one happy camper!

:)

Watching Thom dance is pretty much worth the price of admission. I could watch him dance for hours. Every time he broke out in his spastic dance moves, the arena cheered loudly for him. The only thing I will bitch about is that it has taken me too long to see them perform live. Finally there was no crazy or unfortunate events preventing me from seeing them. Took some videos but had to stop often because of the beer/bathroom runs that the people in my row kept going on. If I can figure out how to post some of them on here without going through youtube and my google+ account, I will share them.

Mofo, I saw that!

I assumed they'd announce the rest of the US shows around the same time as Bonnaroo. Do you know of any other rumored shows? I hope they come to Ohio in the same timeframe!

 I have a seat like that in Phoenix. I hope I get an aroma like that, too, but
friggin AZ.

I have decided to never take videos at concerts from now on. I figure (and I really don't mean offence to anyone here, I know you're all better than this and only take small clips and still enjoy the show) the rest of humanity is stupid enough to put filming before actually enjoying the concert, so if I want to check out a clip it's bound to end up on youtube.

don't know of any more shows this one here was a rumor announced on a local radio station. They like other bands are not announcing shows in large groups anymore but just small bits and drabs.. Which drives me nutso. Obviously the rest of the east coast will be announced at some point who knows when that will be. :(
