An great song with some of Bono's best lyrics that nonetheless probably doesn't quite deserve the cult-like status it's been given and cant possibly live up to.

One of the best closing lines in a U2 song. If only Bono could sing like this and act like that live.

The weakest song on AB, imho. But that goes to show you how strong this album is (I gave it an 8).

A monster of a song. Edge's guitar is just roaring, Bono's lyrics are just menacing - and a perfect song for Adam's bass to blend into. Dark, but I love it.

Hell yeah, a 10 for me. One of those songs I would kill to hear live if it ever makes it's way to a live show.

The colour of this song is red, red for anger, it's been a difficult colour for U2 to paint, Bullet comes close to portraying it, but Acrobat is a major upgrade. I feel that Bono's tried to do anger since then, with Love and Peace or else for example, but nothing comes close to Acrobat.

This is an interesting observation, and someone should write start a thread about U2 and anger.

There's the angry young U2 throwing bricks through windows. Then there's the self-righteous anger of the late 80's, followed by the more ironic, but poisonous, what a f*cked up world it is anger, of the 90's.

After that, any "anger" in their songs really doesn't work because it's inauthentic...after all, what do these guys have to be angry about? Chinese stocks going down? Can't build that dream house in Malibu? Can't decide on which supermodel to date? Going bald?

I like your comment, it's so right. True anger has been missing since AB. And I miss it a lot. A few pieces were thrown out on Pop, but after that, nothing true....
