Just draw all three of the band members together on MS Pain.

That is an epic typo, Vlad. And an excellent idea.

The problem is, I like them too much to do that. It'd be one of my projects where I'm glued to photoshop for six hours making everything look amazing.

A long way away from when they were like punk and anti-establishment (but probably just liberal lol) and all of that.

That typo originated from about two years ago, and I have never bothered to change it while on this site.

Indeed. And in fact, you just gave me an even more evil idea than trolling with a U2 shirt. Well done, malyenkiyi malchik.

I can dig it.

Haha yes.

On the other hand, why should I pay them $20 for my t-shirt design, even if they do end up using it? By submitting it, I relinquish any rights to my intellectual property, whether they use the design or not, without compensation. Not really worth $20, thank you. Besides, I have spent more money than I care to admit on that band already.

Surely the winner would at least get a copy of the shirt? But yeah, what a great way to boost t-shirt profits just that little bit more - cut out the need to actually pay royalties or commission for somebody to do the design. Get fans to do it for free! Surprised McGuinne$$ doesn't run heaps of competitions getting U2 fans suckers fans to design everything from shirts to mugs to the tour programme and the edging on his gold-plated toilet.

My favourite song was then they sang about asking if I knew my enemy, but they kept on repeating it when I was trying to respond with an answer. :(

I just remembered how lame that song is/was, to my ears.

Don't give him ideas.

Haha yes.

I have to pay my $20 to find out. I'm just remembering from when ONE did a similar campaign. Yeah, about all you got out of it was a copy of the shirt.

That song is one of the stupidest they've ever written. And I'm including all the retarded shit Tre's written over the years.

But here's the first flickers of my idea. The lightbulb hasn't gone on all the way yet. I'm thinking Billie Joe, front and center, taking up most of the design, looking dignified, sophisticated. Putting a crown on his head, or even putting him up on the cross. (He is the Jesus of Suburbia after all.) Just playing into that goddamned big ego he's developed since American Idiot. Then the other two being a third or even a quarter of the size, Tre as a court jester with his best "Me Gusta" face, and I'm not sure what to do with Mike, as I have no beef with him and he's actually a pretty cool guy.

My other idea that doesn't quite make fun of them, but kind of does, is just Billie's first guitar leaning against an amp on one side, Mike's Stella bass leaning against an amp on the other side, Tre's drums in the middle, on a dark background with "Green Day" below the image, a reminder of the days when it was just the three of them and they had no grandiose ideas and Billie Joe wasn't a total asshole.

I remember when 21 Guns got such frequent airplay, my god it was a wussier Green Day parodying a wussier Green Day. Massive laughs at the music video. They could've used those bullets to take aim at the establishment if they wanted to, not some cruddy music video.

OH GOD WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT DEFORMED WALRU- oh it's only McGuinne$$. Thanks for making me bring up my breakfast and lunch, Vlad.

In my studies of punk's first wave back in the late 70's, I'm learning just how un-punk Green Day are and what it truly means to be punk and all that.

I dared to put on a Paul Mc$$$ avatar once, it wasn't a wise choice.

Bringing punk into the mainstream. :tsk:

You need to add me on RYM I think.

It says I'm already friends with you on RYM. My username is the exact same as on last.fm to avoid confusion.

Yeah, I knew that. I was talking about RYM or you're deliberately confusing me.

I'm kind of waiting for someone to have a strong objection/surprise to any of my ratings so I can have a flame war with them justifying my position.

You don't have anything rated 0.5 or 1 to get pissed off about, though.

I'm just not as daring when it comes to forcefully feeding myself horrible music (referring to HMH). I wouldn't be able to take it.

But if Radiohead/Coldplay might have a chance if they try to get even more shit, in my opinion.

There are some albums I could rate 0.5 that would start a flame war.

The fact that this picture is as old as I am depresses me a little.

But holy crap. I still can't believe he's only 12 in this picture. /fangirl

He's got the largest eyes on anyone ever ...

yes, yes, yes. 21st century breakdown was a pile of shit. i'm never going to argue that it isn't.

I've picked up some of my 0.5 and 1 star ratings just by rating horrible singles I've heard out at the shops or whatever.

There's this frappe place in Moonee Ponds that we love ... both for the divine frappes and for the fact they usually have some godawful MTV/VH1/whatever show on counting down abysmal pop singles. My recent 0.5 for that Hangover pile of shit by Taio Cruz is thanks to that!
