Random Music Talk XLVI: No, studio Bad(minton) is NOT better than the live version.

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

So Carek had Andy Rooney for an appetizer, Joe Fraser as the main.... Whose soul do you figure she'll be devouring for dessert?

Just had to drop $27 (!!!) of my hard earned on Method Man's Tical 0: The Prequel cos a mate lent me the cd and I lost it. Not fucking happy. Though I did get Food and Liquor for $10.

Opinions on Sons of Anarchy? My mate is begging me to watch it.

I'm a fan. First season is a bit cheesy but it's improved year on year with a great fourth season on now.

Also, thanks for the constant Amoeba plugs, $13 for Alligator tickles my fancy.

And I'm sad to be missing the Lips on Sunday :(

Finally got the AB covers CD. I like it a lot more than I was expecting.

Mysterious Ways and One are the biggest disappointments.

Were it not for the supremely irritating singer, I even wouldn't have minded the Fray. The music going on behind his caterwauling was better than I was expecting. Probably because it's U2's song. Ha. Brandon Flowers' voice annoyed me within two seconds, but thankfully, it got better as it went on.

Garbage's version is good, despite there being a few too many changes of mood throughout.

I keep forgetting to go look for this magazine at Barnes and Noble.

Cool. I'll add it to the list.

It's the best shop in the world. Also how I'm getting Achtung super deluxe cos JB don't have it. Same price; $6 shipping.

I'm sad for ya! I might commit happy suicide Sunday cos life ain't gonna get much better after Harvest

Donald Glover on The To Do List (with Aubrey Plaza): "she wants to cross some sex stuff off her list before she goes to college. I'm the guy who eats her out."

Where do I buy my ticket?!

Aubrey Plaza is ugly!

I know I've bought it / looked through it at bookstores in the past. They usually import some copies, and people steal the cds before you can buy it.

Well I'll definitely look for it.

Two albums I heard today. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble's self-titled - seriously fucking good. Listened to it twice. 52 minutes of horn goodness. And Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's self-titled. I think you can call me a fan, some great songs on it. Will see them Saturday.

I saw CYHSY at a free outdoor fest here recently, and they were very good. Though I found it sad that despite having a new album out (which is better than their sophomore effort), like 6-7 of the 10 songs they played were from their first album.

All great songs, but if you don't have any confidence in your new material you're already dead.

'Hounds of Love' is the only one I've heard. It's alright. I enjoy the "pop" half much more than the "weird" half tho. Can't say it's compelled me to delve further into her discography.

That sleep alarm app thing is pretty cool. I like the chart. It appears I was wide awake at 3.

So I should defs hear it if I liked the debut? Young Team is the last album I'm listening to for preparation for Harvest. Lehgo.

That's pretty much exactly how I felt about it.

Hounds of Love kicks ass. Don't listen to these guys.

This.

Looks like I'm going to see the Pixies next week play Doolittle all the way through. I've never been to a show like that before and didn't think I could do this one due to a work conflict but now I've decided I can do both. Work thing will end around the time the Pixies take the stage so I'll just run over and hang in the back.

Show has been sold out for months but they just put a few more on sale. The promoter is bringing me a ticket to my office (and I don't even know him). Sometimes small towns are awesome.

So, yay.

Really tempted to sell my $183 (one-day, 15&over) BDO ticket. I shouldn't have bought it so hastily.

Kanye
Soundgarden
Kasabian
Royksopp
Battles
Odd Future
Girl Talk
Best Coast
Noel Gallagher
Dad Racist
Kimbra

With Kanye being the only one I'm dying to see. If announces a sideshow I'll desperately try and sell this ticket.

Kanye hasn't done a sideshow in this country since he came out for U2, if I am correct in saying so?

He's the top of many reasons why I won't be going to BDO, again next year.
