OH PLEASE LET IT BE JANURARY!!!! omfg what if they did big day out?! hahahahaha that would be great!
Don't make it feb, i'll be back teaching and that would just SUCK!

Well they said 'summer 2011' so im going for Jan/Feb rather then allllllll the way in Nov/Dec that just seems so far and it seems to make more sense to put the dates between europe and the us, then have such a huge gap till the end of the year.

They wouldn't do july/august here its the middle of bloody winter!

:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

I'm in my last year so I probably will need a bit of july to finish, and cannot go away in the middle of the year. But august would be holiday month here, so I could come over to Melbourne at least. Danny said we're going to the zoo so I'm holding him to that promise. :D

Will you guys go see any mainland Aus shows aside the NZ ones?
:cute:

we'll certainly try our best! at the very least, we'd probably try to hit up sydney or wherever has multiple dates. more bang for the buck! as long as i have money when the tickets go on sale, i'll just buy as much as i can and worry about logistics later. i just hope the dates are in early 2011 rather than later this year. i'm going to be back in the states in november and stuff.

Well then august 2011 would work out for you as well right? :D I hope the tickets won't go onsale soon. I'm gonna be pretty broke due to my holiday starting tomorrow and then the German U2 dates, after that Brussels... so yeah, uhm boys, I'll have money again by november or so. :uhoh:

Why are you going back? visit or definitive?

The tour won't be in August next year. All this talk about August is simply because that's when the dates are being announced (next month! woot!) The concerts will either be December or February. I would lay down $50 on that right now.

^ got a feeling that is most likely . . . wasn't the inital rumour December, before Bon Jovi on 18 Dec? Just got ticketek newsletter re Guns N Roses playing Sydney at Telstra Stadium weekend of 3 - 5 December . . . . . . and I'm sure I read that there is something huge the following weekend as well . . .

U2 turn 360 Degrees towards Perth

U2 turn 360 Degrees towards Perth - The West Australian

Perth, seriously? :hyper:

Achtung, Perth – Irish supergroup U2 is coming to town.
Bono and the boys are expected to announce their Australasian tour, including their first Perth shows since 1998, next month when their spectacular 360 Degrees tour resumes in Europe.
While the team behind the blockbuster tour, international touring company Live Nation and Australian promoter Michael Coppel, would not comment yesterday, The West Australian understands U2 is pencilled in to play at Subiaco Oval in mid-to-late December.

I believe this article, except for the date... mid-to-late December is pretty much Christmas. I don't see them playing a gig anywhere after the middle of December. But I could be wrong.
Does anyone else think that the December dates are speculation, and that the real dates may well be Feb/March? I say this because if you look at the other legs of the tour, the dates have been announced quite far in advance, up to a year. If this tour is announced in say mid-August it will be the beginning of September before tickets go on sale, and that's only 3 months from the gigs.

although i do agree with you it will be early 2011, i think 3 months is still a lot of time especially in Oz where most of the shows sold out within a day or two...it doesn't matter if its 3 months or 6 months, those tickets will be gone!

oh please let it be late december, janurary! best times for me fo shure! (and its all about me riiiiiiiight?)

Party pooper :blowsraspberries:

I just want them to come! Ive even bought a ticket for some music festival next weekend and I have no idea who any of the bands are, I just want to dance with a big crowd!

You mean :madspit: ?

Nah, I gotta try and figure out how to fit a U2 tour into my crazed life, December would suck and Feb/March would slightly less suck. Why don't these people consult me first!!!

Holy Fuck With Knobs On!! :D :D

Their going to New Zealand in November?! See 'ya later Sydney lololol :D

I have honest-to-God been checking this site, u2tours & gigs everyday since their initial 2008 tour announcements for Barcelona et al.

In regards to whether December are the actual dates, Im a bit suspicious.

Im not sure if this comparison is valid, but Muse dates were originally speculated for mid-to-late November according to Lees and West.
They ended up being mid December.

So if thats anything to go by, U2 should turn up around mid January?

Hope that the oz tour announcement comes around as the tour reboots in early august, (specifically the 6th, with Turin) like lots of sites have promised me.

Do they let you sign misadventure forms for obsessive compulsive anticipation?
Especially as I have my HSC Trials in 4 weeks.
Better start seeing results as it might "screw me up for life".

The second European leg of the 360 Degrees tour, launched last year in support of U2's latest album No Line on the Horizon, will conclude in October with the band due in New Zealand the following month.

From that West Australian article.

So jealous... Are economy flights cheap across the Tasman?

oh yeah, they usually don't run to more than a few hundred dollars. especially if you get in early. it's not the norm, but i once stumbled across a flight that was NZ$60 one way from auckland to sydney, so there's some value there. it's never really that good, but it's pretty cheap.
