Afraid of Everyone on Letterman is one of the best performances I've ever seen!!!!!!!

I sat here thinking over the "favorite songs" question, and after much evaluation, I think they're all my favorite. It's too close to call.

It feels terribly predictable for me to love this album as much as I do, but them's the breaks.

As boring as that answer is, I feel the very same! There is no bad song on the album! The National have IMO very sucessfully done it again, producing a 10 outta 10 album that is,

As stated earlier the only thing I'm slightly annoyed about is how Terrible Love turned out, the live version was soooo incredible!!! and the album version then is so restrained, Matt goes ape during it live, "it takes and ocean not to BREAK!!!, If I had of posted my feelings of the album earlier I would have been very severe on Terrible Love, but over time its grown on me, just a shame considering what it could have been,

My favorite song is probably Afraid Of Everyone, absolutely incredible song, and even better live!!!!!

Can't wait to see this guys again!!! I hope the Dublin show rumors are true!!!!!

They are getting ready here at the venue, should be starting in a few minutes.

Terrible Love is up there with their best output. Truly stunning stuff.

Things I love:

- I return from a night on the town in the mood for THE NASH! and apparently the show isn't up for re-stream on their YouTube channel yet.

- For some reason, you can find A Skin, A Night on their YouTube channel in its entirety even though this raving fanboy finds its a gigantic piece of shit.

This was a mutual feeling. I'd biked home from a party, drunken, while listening to THE NASH! (because, let's be honest, there's not a better band suited for that sort of thing) and was all ready to watch the performance...but no.

I intend to follow up your article with my own review of The National show in Philly. Also, your article kicks the ass of most of the reviews I've seen, which are becoming increasingly pretentious as The National becomes more hyped.

Oh hello, High Violet. You look good packaged next to the new LCD album and a Scorsese book.

Also, it appears that it's actually going to be #3, according to someone from Beggars. Officially, Billboard updates tomorrow at noon, but that's the word.

Awesome, definitely looking forward to it. I'll probably be covering their back-to-back nights here as well. And, thanks, that's good to hear, seeing as unpretentious was what I was going for...seriously, that Pitchfork review is still unbelievable to me. How they're regarded as a decent music review site to this day is beyond me...

Billboard always initially reports the top albums Wednesdays, and then the whole chart Thursdays.

It is indeed debuting at #3, selling 51,000 units. It was only 3,000 off of the #2 album.

The Dead Weather debut at #5.
