Using that logic, they are playing 2 shows in ONE day in Montreal because 17-16=1.

Well, show me the subtraction problem you claim that I missed?

Plus if you really want to be technical about it, they are doing two shows in Montreal within a space of 26 hours which is far closer to being one day than two.

In addition, the band has done 4 shows in 4 cities with the time frame of of the July 12th Philly show to the July 19th East Rutherford show.

The additional show in a city adds very little work for the crew compared to what it takes to move to a different city.

So the key here is that they have done four cities within the time frame you specified.

lol.....my mistake. But still pretty heinous in 3.5 days or so. Then again, now I can preemptively start bitching about how lousy the Mpls show will be since they'll obviously be jet lagged :D

My thinking as well....and it is going to be my first GA experience too....

Well, look what I found:

London 1 August 14
London 2 August 15
Glasgow August 18
Sheffield August 20
Cardiff August 22

Thats 5 shows, 4 cities, in 8 days.

1. 14th
2. 15th
3. 16th
4. 17th
5. 18th
6. 19th
7. 20th
8. 21st
9. 22nd

That is nine days.

Sure, if you count the all of the 14th. But from show time on the 14the to the end of the show on the 22nd is only 8 days and 2 hours. I was pointing out that it was the same as the July 9th through July 17 which is the example I thought he was refering to. But instead he was refering to the 12th through the 19th.

San Sebastian on 26 September has been confirmed.

COOL that after the Catalans and Andalusians also the Basque people will get their chance of seeing U-DOS!

I don't know how the Basque people pronounce U2, but I had a lot of fun in Catalunya and in the rest of spain talking about my favourite band, haha.

Cool indeed!
Though it makes me wonder about my trip to Seville (and Andalucía). Will I make it a road trip and go to San Sebastian and Seville? :hmm: It'll be quite busy: Brussels --> San Sebastian --> Seville with only 2 days between each trip...

Hey you have great plans! Both Seville and San Sebastian are great and beautiful cities! So besides the fact you will see oe-dos, it's worth it for the city itself

Yeah, but I won't have much time to actually see the cities. :|

And with the San Sebastian date on the 26th, it rules out another possibility for any Dutch date. :(

I think further European dates will be announced soon. I'm especially interested in Italy.

Yes, it's getting time. If I remember well, this is the first European date announced since more than a month ago (2nd Coimbra date).

Curious which Italian rumours are going to be true (Torino and/or Roma?), and also curious what will happen with the big gap in the tour schedule between Munich and Istanbul. Will Zurich be added there and which other dates? Or will they have a week rest or smth in their busy schedule...

Yeah, I wonder if anything will come next week. Surprised this was suddenly announced now, especially with the total lack of warning on the presale front.

Did the Tel Aviv rumour finally get dispelled?

All has gone quiet on that front, but it hasn't been formally dispelled or anything.

The U2.com subscriber logo mentions "final tour presales". Was that there before, and does that mean that's it for 2010 (for the 2 legs)?

On the tour page it still says that additional cites and dates are to be announced.

Hey, since when is the rumour for Rome October 8? Until now, I heard a lot about Rome (and Turin) shows before Frankfurt

Would make sense for Rome to be later rather than earlier, though. I've been increasingly wondering about that gap between legs. If the Turin on 4-5 August and Rome on 7 August rumour were to come true, that means there are only 14 days off between the US and European legs (assuming no extra North American shows after NYC!), and that's cutting it bloody fine to get the stage across the Atlantic. Putting Italy at the end gives them more breathing space to get to Europe, and could potentially mean another NYC gig or extra US city could be slotted into the itinerary in July.

Makes sense now. Perhaps having the Italy dates before Frankfurt didn't allow enough time after the New York show(s) to move all that stuff over and get re-situated. Now, how will this effect South America and Australia? October 8 is kind of late to have another leg follow it. Maybe South America will procede Mexico in May, with Australia/NZ/Japan/other in NOvember/Dec. It's not out of the question for them to do shows in early 2011 either.

Here's a question...has U2 ever dragged out announcing cities like this before?

It's like we are watching Principal Mgmt. at their white board with markers and a map, except that there are tickets sales happening and people wondering when to use their fan club codes.

They have been doing this since the Elevation tour. Its a good strategy too for maximizing demand and profit.

I think 2011 is in play. Although u2.com does say "Additional dates and cities for U2 360° Tour 2010 to be confirmed.", it also says "final tour presales", which doesn't exactly hint at another 2010 leg.
