i met a radiohead fan at uni yesterday. it was fucking awesome.

i was just sitting there, stressing the fuck out, 'cos i had two assignments to finish and an exam to study for, and then all of a sudden i heard a baby's wail, and i thought to myself, "that sounds a lot like the end of kid a." and then about three or four minutes later, when i started hearing those apocalyptic horns and everyone else but me was giving this guy weird looks, "what the fuck is he listening to", i knew - had he been a she - i was in love.

so naturally i went over, tapped him on the shoulder, introduced myself and asked him if he was listening to kid a. he said he was. now we're facebook friends.

didn't think i'd ever meet someone in real life who would listen to kid a from start to finish

anyway, sorry to interrupt your ragging on flea. continuano

As usual, I have no idea what the hell you guys are talking about.

That Gibby = Thommy's guitar. It was in no way, shape, or form any sort of clickspeak. The ES-333 is just my favorite guitar evar.

I've just listened The Eraser twice and I've got to say that even after Kid A this is really difficult music. It hasn't connected with me yet. But the weird thing is that I always have a desire to hear it even though I don't really like it. I had that feeling with Kid A too and I love it now.

It's too melodic to be considered truly difficult. You'll figure it out soon enough.

If you think The Eraser is difficult, don't even bother with the Spitting Feathers EP! Just get Harrowdown Hill's extended mix from somebody here. It's better than the one on Eraser and totally worth it!

I've only listened to it twice. So it'll probably come. But I really liked Kid A after 2 listens so I just want to say I think The Eraser a lot more experimental than any album Radiohead has ever done.

I think the only song I'm not very crazy about is Skip Divided, other than that, no complaints from me. It did take several listens for me to really get into though.

I skip divided. And I don't remember how Atoms.. goes. But everything else is  for me.

ETA: OMG Atoms is awesome! lol.

Taken in context as a solo record and, thusly, a bit of a vanity project, it's hard for me to really deem it experimental, much less more experimental than Kid A. That album completely redefined their sound, whereas The Eraser sounds more like the logical progression of the direction Thommy went on with the entire band over the years leading up to it.

"Atoms for Peace" is beautiful.

Haha I want to eat your artichoke heart (okkkay Thom :uhoh: ) how could I forget that weirdo of a song? Love it!

Now you guys got me listening to the Eraser.
