i used my mom's CC for the Elevation Tour when i was younger and didn't have a credit card yet. you should be fine.

just make sure all your contact information is updated. some companies place a courtesy call to the card holder for fraud protection.

i only have Internet Explorer at work. does everything work well with Explorer? are there any pop-up settings i need to tweak at all? should i put in an I.T. request to have Firefox installed and lie about needing it for a work project? thanks!

Hey Mikal, I used Explorer for the Amsterdam presale without problems. I used it for the Amsterdam general sale, too, with success. You don't need Firefox, nor would I necessarily use it instead of Explorer if you have Firefox already installed.

In my typically paranoid delusional state, I also turned off my Zonealarm firewall, AVG and Pop Up Stopper, in case they delayed my connection by a tenth of a second, which sometimes makes all the difference. I also cleared out my temp files folder, did a full computer scan with AVG, Spybot and Adaware and turn all unecessary background processes using Windows Task Manager.

Total overkill, I know, but I have this fear that my comp will freeze, some virus or malware will slow me down or some scanner will automatically turn on right in the middle of a ticket sale.

During the Amsterdam general sale, I couldn't get an internet connection 30 minutes before the sale began... called my ISP, etc., turned out my modem was dead.. went to a friends' house at 2:20am after to use their computer after wasting an hour, but lost 40 crucial minutes, very aggravating  - lucked out and got 3 A'dam 2 GAs anyway after three hours of refreshing, but that was a major drag - good luck!

awesome! thanks for the advice!

and wow, now that's a story of determination! LOL!

Another question on a similar theme -

I am booking under my pre-sale code for Wembley. I also want to book using a friends pre-sale code for Dublin but I don't want him to use his cc. Will I be breaking rules by doing this as I will have 2 bookings on the one TM account?

When were second shows for a town added?

Do the presale codes work? Or are the shows added during the general sale when the first show sells out?

I read somewhere 2nd show in Paris will be 7.10, true?
Any word of second show in Berlin?

Thanks

Right, I'm off to bed now and I have still no idea if the presales for the UK shows are happening tomorrow as I haven't received the email with the links and there is still nothing on the U2.com/Tours page to say that it is. I have told work that I will be in late tomorrow so I've already got that base covered just in case it does happen.

Two bookings on one TM account might be fishy. I wouldn't run the risk.
From a posting by Bajagirl on U2.com TOUR INFO UPDATE 3/16/09 14:00 PST DUBLIN/UK/ FRENCH dates - Announcements and News (RENEWAL and PROBLEM INFO HERE) - Main Forum - U2 Community - Message Board - Kickapps
For VERTIGO some ticket orders were canceled due to ticket orders having the same billing address. As far as I am aware, that has not changed (yes I asked).

Most of the time, second shows are added during the general sale when the first one has (almost) sold out. So there aren't any presales for those.

Not sure if this was posted here, but it seems Baja updated the FAQ post on U2.com and there are some interesting additions.

No, i cannot move you to Horizon if you forgot to renew your account in time.

No, being a member of Propaganda has nothing to do with seniority for the
U2360 pre-sale. It is how long you have had an unexpired account on U2.com

Pre-sale codes MAY only be used for ONE show in EUROPE ONLY, or 1/3; 2/2 , 1/1/1/1 or 4 tickets for NORTH AMERICAN shows. You cannot split the difference and use it to buy tickets for a European show and then a NORTH AMERICAN show

Pre-sale codes are considered used once a purchase is completed.

Any problems with your purchase MUST be resolved with the ticketing agency.

When purchasing tickets, make sure you print out everything and make screen shots. Go to Google if you do not know how to take screen shots.

No, I have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever if the band is coming to INSERT YOUR HOMETOWN/COUNTRY HERE. If I knew, I would post it.

No, I do not know when the other dates are going to be scheduled or when the onsales/pre-sales will be, if I knew I would post it.

Some people have been renewing and getting an additional code, but it is the same as the previous code and IT WILL NOT NOT NOT work . Don't do it, lets your ticket order be canceled.

No word on if pre-sale codes will be a benefit of the 10-11 subscription. No word on what the gift will be.

MEDIUM CD's (this years gift) will be shipped mid April, shipping time is in U2 time, not real people time

Yes, if you renewed in Nov/08 of after you get the new gift also.

I have asked for maps of seating/pricing for the venues *goes looks at email* nope not here yet.

For VERTIGO some ticket orders were canceled due to ticket orders having the same billing address. As far as I am aware, that has not changed (yes I asked).

No two U2.com accounts may have the same email. Yes the system will let you open it, but it will cancel it afterward.

No you do not need to be receiving emails from us for your pre-sale code to work or for you to access the presale. Thats why the contingency of having everything listed on the TOUR page is there.

If the show is not listed on the U2.com tour page as having a pre-sale, then ITS NOT having one. Any additional shows that might/might not be added at the last minute will NOT have a pre-sale.

If you DO NOT use your code for the 2009 shows, you MAY use it for the 2010 shows, that techincally are still hypothetical *cough, wink wink cough*

If you do not use your presale code for 2009 shows, and choose not to resubscribe for the 10-11 year WE THINK YOU MAY POSSIBLY, MAYBE, PERHAPS still use that code for the 'hypothetical' 2010 shows (not a good idea, renew people, renew *cough, wink wink cough* BUT NOT NOW, in October or November 09 )

No word on how the GA access will work

when 2nd dates are added...

When a 2nd date is added for a given location, is ther a presae or are those only for general onsales?

Thanks--helps in deciding how best to use my code--I thought that was the case on Vertigo as well but I couldn't remember 100%

*cough wink* color change - I wish they could find someone WHO COULD format the FAQ in a professional, orderly manner. Maybe if information was properly shared to begin with, she wouldn't be bombarded with the same questions over and over. I'm sure the incompetence begins at a much higher level than her though.

hi iam boots subscriber and i want to buy 2 ga tickets and 2 for seats .how do i do that ,beacuse you can use your code ones?? thank you

it's funny because that's so not true about the Prop membership. if the guidelines were truly followed as posted by Baja, i wouldn't be a Horizon member.

Forgive me if this has been asked....

I plan to go for 4 GAs for the Chicago show in the presale. Can I also get two seats in the general sale with the same credit card? Is there a total ticket limit including presale tickets? I only need two of each so I could go fr 4 GAs and trade 2 for seats but I'd rather get extra GAs for friends or just sell them face value later on, and I also want seats in case we change our minds.

what you do in the general sale should have nothing to do with the presale. it didn't last tour. go nuts:hyper:

Ok, I thought I understood this whole ticket thing for the NA dates. I understand the whole 1 show for Europe and 4 for 4 NA shows. BUT....then I read Baja's update yesterday:

"Pre-sale codes are considered used once a purchase is completed."

So, what if I am buying for let's say Las Vegas first on the appropriate presale day, then let's say the presale day for Los Angeles is a different day, will the code still be good for the 2nd day's purchase or is it considered used??? Do all 4 tickets need to be purchased during the same transaction?? I hope this makes sense. Apologies if this has been asked already......

Not for NA...you can buy 1+1+1+1 to four different shows.

The prior answer to your question is incorrect as applies to NA shows. You can buy 2 GAs with your code, then go back and buy 2 seats. The code will expire after you buy 4 tickets.

I guess I have my doubts as to why that wouldn't apply to Europe also. If the code is good for up to 4 tickets for 1 European show, why do those four tickets to the same show have to be purchased at the same time.

The quota for the code should be stored in the relevant Tickemaster site. Once the code is used 4 times for the same show it should expire, whether or not is in the US or Europe.

I'm not saying that's how is work,, but that's how it should work.

I don't think U2.com would disagree, but in Europe there are different sites/systems handling ticketing for different shows.
