You went to a Benny Hinn crusade ... and are here and sane to talk about it? It's a secular miracle!

I really wonder where all the people come from that attend Hinn's crusades, since it seems everybody who's on the moderate or liberal side of religion think he's batshit insane, atheists and agnostics obviously think he's a conman, and even the fundies hate him!
Well, these were slightly fundie pentecostals.

Oh, and I'm vaguely amused that while I'm bitching about it getting too hot too soon after winter's conclusion, Ali is still using her electric blanket, AND still wants it on 3!

Sleep well and wussily, Ali!

I didn't, as it turns out :crack:

And it's just so nice to get into a nice warm bed... like jumping into a hot shower.

It was cool enough by 3am!

Hi Chass and Bonnie and Ax and GG and Purplereign...

What the fuck is that? :grumpy:

Oh, and I was impressed to see this year's go over 100,000. Hadn't done that for a few years, now.

Third is some Eucharist Conference or something too! 120,000. Where the hell are all these religious people coming from in Melbourne? The churches near me probably have about five people at their Christmas services, let alone regular Sundays. Actually, I'm amused the Anglican church down the road is advertising some "God Expo". I'm tempted to go along and get into a theological argument with somebody.

Yeah, I was under the impression the G was permanently reduced to just under six digits now, but Ian said that they've kept a small standing section and that's how they got past 100,000.

Well, Christian involvement in general did leave me with lasting after effects.

I'm now annoyed by Christians rather than simply ambivalent toward them.

AND HERE'S THAT STUPID LIGHTBULB AD AGAIN!

imgad

It is so ridiculous!

My antagonism towards Christianity is mostly targeted at the lunatic fundies. Love my theological debates with the more clued-in ones, e.g. LM.

... that lightbulb is easily the dumbest USB thing I've ever seen. Could it be any LESS practical?

 Hey Ali! Hope you aren't too sleep-deprived ... :uhoh:

At this time of year, I find a cold bed comfortable. Now, middle of winter, no, I was a touch cold initially, but right now, it's that comfortable kind of coolness. You're now going to tell me such a thing doesn't exist, I'm sure.

No, not "too" sleep-deprived. I'm just sleep-deprived enough to be kinda hyper and random and loquacious :D
(aka, crazy)

When it's a hot night, I would love a cool bed. I usually employ frozen bottles of water, squirty spray bottles and fans to achieve this, but it doesn't last. :(

orstrilian but lived in nz many moons ago - had a gorgeous view of mt taranaki from my bedroom window in fact :)

Ooh, nice. That's one part of the country I've barely seen - only been into Taranaki once, and only as far as Hawera. I'm from the Kapiti Coast, outside Wellington. I tend to prefer the South Island more, though. The West Coast is just amazing.

South Island is gorgeous - did a whistle stop visit to all the obvious places before we moved back to oz and sadly the only things i remember about wellington are that big 'beehive' building and the bloody wind!

Taranaki really was gorgeous and the ridiculously picture postcard view from the place we were in was brilliant to wake up too - wouldn't mind having another look one day soon

 I managed only six hours of sleep myself. Not sure how I've stayed so conscious all through today. Hell, I've even churned out over 400 words of an essay thus far!

Hah, not even in my intense hatred of heat have I ever done anything like that. I just leave a fan on, aimed at my head. I'm usually comfortable enough to get to sleep with that.

Ok I'm back typing two handedly! Much better!

and sofar I've cleaned both toilets, I think I'll vacuum the attic today cause it's just damn disgusting here, and do the rest tomorrow!
