I thought I'd found a place that had :hyper::hyper: Tim Tams, but it turned out to be this Ice Cream place that calls itself ? Austrailian Ice Cream or something like that...their recipies originally came from Austrailia.:angry:

With all the awful stuff that went on my energy levels are spotty for this time of year. :grumpy::sigh:

Hey Dazz! I'm having a remarkably good week... kinda makes me worry what's about to happen.

YAY for you!

aaawwww don't think like that!!!

Got some unexpected money which will be going straight into my travel/tour fund! :yippie:
And I've had a rather indulgent weekend so far... CD shopping, massage, chocolate...

MY art is going so s-l-o-w-l-y partly because of May's mid-late awfull ness.

there are saome good things---
listened outside of Summer Stage in Central PArk to Crosby,Stills & Nash.
They were kicking! Good plus voices and they had some more band people with them for a big sound!

The stimulus check I will spend some of it on Streling Silver wire & semi-precious stones for jewelry making!:drool:

But I'm being priced out of Turquios UNLESS I can find a shorted strand of sdomething!:mad::mad:

My sis and I had a great evening down at Coney Island last Sat.....Nathan's food & a fireworks show thry do every fri till around Labor Day!

Oooh, shiny things and musics and fireworks! :hyper: I still stop every time I go past a jewellry or a bead shop, but I think I'll put off my vague ideas of taking it up until I do the working-overseas thing. It ain't cheap living in the UK, and I'll need every dollar.

Although that didn't stop me splurging this weekend.

I know! But "the Hunt" IS part of the fun! :giggle:

You are planning to go to the UK to work, so you are saving up for it? :der:

Although that didn't stop me splurging this weekend.

I hope that I and my Fam & Friends will ALWAYS be able to splurage some or :hyper: more!!!

I know! But "the Hunt" IS part of the fun! :giggle :
This is true... I need to go and see if I can still get Reese's peanut butter cups at this particular chocolate shop...

You are planning to go to the UK to work, so you are saving up for it? :der:
Yep... sorry I didn't make that clearer! I keep forgetting who I've told what. :der:
I was originally thinking of getting a "working holiday" visa to the UK, which would allow me to stay there for up to two years, and work for up to 12 months within that time... but I found out last week that my mother (who was born in the UK) was still a British citizen when I was born, so I should be able to register as a UK citizen by descent, which would allow me to get a British passport, and I could live and work anywhere in the EU as well!!

It'll cost an arm and a leg, and it'll be a pain getting some of the paperwork, but it'll be worth it. And I've been saving up anyway!

How's your part of Austrailia doing these days?

and please REMIND me which city your are in/near>>>> :reject:

I know some of the names............

SYdney/ Perth/ Melbourne/ Canennbarra ( STate or Country Capital?)
*points to Location* I'm in Melbourne

Canberra is Australia's capital city, yes. It was built especially for the purpose, since they couldn't decide between Sydney and Melbourne (Melb was actually the capital for a short time, until they finished Canberra I guess!).

I read somewhere that Perth is something like the most remote city of a decent size on the planet... it's waaaay out in the SW corner of Australia. I'd like to see that part of the country, there's some beautiful scenery around there.

Been lucky enough to see everal programs on Austrailia over the years esp some that showed the great contrasts in it!

The USA is the same kind of way...certainly...and like the mojority of the other Big Singualr Countries..... Russia/ India/ China

then 2 of the very long counttries ? argentina & ? chile?

There's a lot of contrasts in Canada too :p ;) When your country is the world's second largest in land mass, contrasts are bound to happen *g*

I was thinking of the contrasts from very cold to very hot AND from very wet to very dry!

I don't think "Oh, Canada!" has a real hot desert does it!??

Me & a friend helped out 2 different sets of Canadians today down in  Battery City Park. :)

 Lots of geographical variation in these big countries... and Canada of course, as Drea said

Although I read somewhere that one of the Hawaiian islands (it must be Big Island) has most of the different types of geography within a very small area... I saw a bit of it last year and it's an amazing place!

Mmm, volcanoes...

Hey Drea, btw

random/

am looking up the last 3 seasons of  SG1 as to figure out which one of the 3 to buy!

I think I'm going to concentrate on S.8 & S.10

then they have Movies 2 DVD's (2nd one due out soonish) but I'll have to wait on those.

Their are 2 stores (same company) that have very good Used copies and one of the big videio rental/buy places does too. Tho I've ended upmostly getting used coopies from the first place (as well as new ON SALE1 :D

Are there actually people in here on a Saturday night? :hyper:

Drea, should we buy you some band aids for the blisters?
Daz! Good to see you - you're up late!!
Ali, very cool citizenship news - I wish I had the same thing. Mr.Z and I will be ready to move (temporarily or permanently...) to the UK/Ireland in about 3 years but who knows what the visa/work situation will be like.

Hot no... though we do have the "Banana Belt" in southwestern Ontario (where I'm originally from). The southernmost point in Canada - Point Pelee - is about 20 mins from my hometown, and equivalent in longitude(? I can never keep latitude and longitude straight) to northern California

Zooey! How's the training and stuff?

*wonders why Drea has blisters* ...?

Given what I've heard of the state of the economy in the UK right now, it probably won't be any worse in three years' time!
That's a big move for the family... anything in particular prompting it?

i remember you talking about that once -Point Pelee.
Isn't it around one of the great Lakes....like ? near detroit?

On my way to Media west in the 80's we turned on the roads and I saw a sign "To Canada" lanes ____ & ______.
I was like waaaahh? because in Nedw York Staet......NYC is ?several hundred miles to the Canadian border....Luckily tho it relatively near BOTH Toronto & Montreal.
One of our family summer vacations we went to the Montreal  World's Fair!

then I remebered that geographical "dip" in the Border line asa well as the terrain!

Lines of longitude run north-south... latitude goes east-west (ie, laterally, if you think of north as "up").... that's how I remember which is which!

Good! I did a 10 mile bike and 2.5 mile run (almost 2/3 of the total race) today without passing out or throwing up!! Exactly 10 weeks to go :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

It is a huge move, prompted by the fact that I hate where we live. And we've both totally loved our two vacations to England/Ireland. And Mr.Z wants to be able to watch pro "futbol"
