is Obama bigger than Bono?

[q]By Matthew Mosk
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sen. Barack Obama has seen his share of large crowds over the last 15 months, but his campaign said they have not approached the numbers gathered along the waterfront here right now.

The campaign, citing figures from Duane Bray, battalion chief of Portland Fire & Rescue, estimated that 75,000 people are watching him speak.

The scene suggests this is not an exaggeration. The sea of heads stretches for half a mile along the grassy embankment, while others watch from kayaks and power boats bobbing on the Willamette River. More hug the rails of the steel bridge that stretches across the water and crowds are even watching from jetties on the opposite shore. [/q]

Do I need to bring back that Obama v. Bono poll?

Actually the MSM lauded Huckleberry for his political savvy.

But, if she left the Senate?
I do think the people of N Y and the Country would be well served by having Bill Clinton with all his skills and intelligence serve in the Senate.

first time in my adult life I am proud of my country?

plus Obama's statement about people's bitterness causing them to "cling" to their guns and "cling" to their religion.

something as simple and meaningless as not wearing a flag pin takes on added importance
What's wrong with clinging to your religion? or for that matter clinging to your gun?

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Barack Obama set his sights on November's general election Saturday as he campaigned in Oregon...

Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.
Ok, jokes about Americans clinging to their forks and thermostats aside.

Then what is going to happen?

Will a president Obama 'lead by example' and yank the central heating & cooling out of the White House, ground Air Force One, mothball the motorcade limosines and instist on sack lunches for Capitol Hill? Is America's future one of sacrifice and deprivation?

Or does president Obama use his leadership to further increase our standard of living and the rest of the world, while still decreasing CO2 emissions, by encouraging the expansion of nuclear power around the globe?

Will it be pain or gain under the leadership of Barack Obama?

these are valid questions for Obama. But I won't be holding my breath. Platitudes are far easier than specifics.

They are valid questions for any leader, but when you are offering status quo(or the same ole shit) what's the point?
