There is an unmistakable energy in this song, an energy you don't often find from a band in their third decade. This song does not offer the intimacy of some of U2's most popular songs...which I feel has turned a few fans off. fine. I came aboard with Achtung Baby, and have been blown away by everything new I have heard since then(and the old stuff). Hell, Beautiful Day didn't blow me away when I first heard it, but it's now one of my favorite U2 moments. No, this song may not incorporate the 90's experimentation, but it does take U2 back to their roots, back to punk...and that's not a bad place for them to go.....or us.
