Easter eggs on U2 DVD's....

I posted this in another thread but I thought I'd share because some of you might not know that there are easter eggs (a hidden piece of content on a DVD) in the Boston DVD and the Best Of DVD. I just wanted to share----->

Here's the easter eggs for the Best of DVD:

1. Easter egg: Footage from the making of the Last Night on Earth Video

How to access the easter egg:

At the main intro screen for the Last Night on Earth video there are 8 pictures on the left side of the screen. Start on the Director's Name (Smyth underlined). Press the UP and LEFT buttons in order four times, to navigate through the pictures until the third photo down on the far left is chosen. You will see a brown outline around the photo when you have selected it. Then choose ENTER. The easter egg will begin to play.
Alternatively, there's a cheat if the above doesn't work. As the DVD begins to play, hit STOP. Then on your remote, select DISPLAY or TITLE or whatever command allows you to skip directly to a certain track. You want track (title) 18.

2.. Easter egg: A fish tank with swimming Trabant cars

How to access the easter egg:
From the main menu, access the main screen for the One video. At this screen press '1' then enter and the screen will reload. Repeat hitting '1' and ENTER, two additional times and the fish tank will appear. The trabant takes some time before showing up, and if you leave it run long enough a two trabants will appear at the same time.

And easter eggs for the Boston DVD:

Disc 1

1. Easter egg: the performance of the song "Elevation" as seen entirely from Bono-cam

How to access the easter egg:

At the end of the "Making of" documentary when the Dreamchaser logo appears, you'll see a small image of Bono's face as "The Fly". Quickly click on that image. When you get to the screen with the flashing boxes, type 1, 9, 7, 6 and you should be taken to the easter egg. On some DVDs, you'll need to hit ENTER after each number.
Alternatively, there's a cheat if the above doesn't work. As the DVD begins to play, hit STOP. Then on your remote, select DISPLAY or TITLE or whatever command allows you to skip directly to a certain track. You want track (title) 3. On some DVD players, once you hit STOP, you can go directly to the easter egg just by touching the "3" on your remote.
Disc 2

2. Easter egg: the performance of "Until the End of the World" as seen entirely from Bono-cam :hyper:

How to access the easter egg:

From the main menu, access the Help screen by clicking on the question mark. When you're at the Help screen, type 1, 9, 9, 1 and you might be taken to the easter egg. On some DVD players, you may need to hit ENTER after each number. This seems to be the more difficult of the two easter eggs to access, as many report this method doesn't work.

Alternatively, there's a cheat. Actually, there are several: a) go to the Additional Tracks screen and immediately press 7 on your remote - the easter egg may begin; b) if that doesn't work, press ENTER after you type the number 7; c) if that doesn't work, you may need to hit some combination of PLAY and/or MENU on your remote.

I found a website about 2 months ago that is all about easter eggs. It had a list of easter eggs for U2 videos. I spent 30 minutes trying to get the fish tank with swimming Trabant cars easter egg to work. I think it was the BIGGEST disappointment ever, I worked so hard for THAT. I was not happy!

All of the other easter eggs are GREAT. I love the Bono cam!

Pisses me off though, why not just put the things on the DVD menu instead of farting around with hiding them, or am I being a killjoy here?

Okay call me crazy but how did you figure all this out? I mean who would know to enter 1 9 9 1 etc. Why can't they just make this stuff easy? Same thing with the vertigo game why did they need cheats. Can't they just make these thing easy for the older people who don't have the time or patience to do these things. It is a good thing younger people listen to U2 b/c I would know nothing otherwise.

I got them all to work but the Elevation Bono cam one, which is the one I really wanted to see.

by the way does anyone know what Bono is looking at during the beginning of Beautiful Day when he looks over and says "Aww C'mon" You can't hear it, but you can read his lips.

Easter eggs...I agree with the other comment-- Why not just put the damn extras so they are easy to see? I'm too lazy and won't take the time to go through all that to see the clips.

Yeah I know the part you mean. I think he's talking to someone in the crowd. Like in the Popmart video where you can see him saying, "Give it to me." and "Asshole" to someone in the crowd at the end of Last Night On Earth (I think that's the song where it happens)...I always found that kinda amusing because once Bono's completley back on stage he is giving this evil glare---that guy musta done something really obnoxious.

Its kind of funny, because I taped the ORIGINAL Popmart Mexico City concert off of the Showtime special. So you get all of those little nuances that the polished off VHS release doesn't have....like Edge's extremely obvious sour note on Still Haven't Found. You see Bono looking back going "Edge? what the..." Then during the beginning of New Years Day, Larry drops his stick or something and instead of starting the drums at the right moment you just hear a count in again and finally he chimes in. I think the part you are referring to is when Bono is looking like he was dropping his guitar into the crowd and a guy throws water at him or something.

The best part not included in the official release was when at the beginning of Pride, you can see one of those little red pointer lasers bouncing around the screen and on Bono. Bono says something to the effect of "Get that thing out of my face!...you with that firefly!...WHERE HERE TO MAKE LOVE!" and the song kicks in.

LOL! Irony at its finest.

I haven't had any trouble with the ELEVATION bono cam easter egg, but i cannot seem to get the 'Until the End of the World' one to work on the 2nd disc. . . Can anybody who has gotten this to successfully work explain more carefully what you do?

I'll bump this....I wouldn't mind some help on the UTEOTW easter egg.

For the Bono-cam the following method worked for me:

Go to the address bar on your personal computer and type in these letter in the following order:

w
w
w
.
y
o
u
t
u
b
e
.
c
o
m

When you have done this you may realize that you do not have a sense of humour. This "humour software" is sometimes not transferable between certain brands and makes of personalities.

Popmart Mexico-City -EASTER EGGS

Hi!Does anybody know how can I access to these easter eggs?!
I've found some explainations on the web,but they're in spanish or in geman:eyebrow: (And I'm Italian XD)
Thanks!

From http://www.hiddendvdeastereggs.com/films/2455.html

I haven't tried it to know if it's true though...

Bonus Video:
Insert the second disc of the set and on the Main Menu select the 'Enter' entry. Once you're in the Popmart store in the Documentary aisle, press the 'Up' button on your remote control and then press 'Enter.' This will select the security camera at the top of the screen. You will now see a bizarre video of a bizarre song. It has nothing to do with U2, but there it is!

um...it's a love story. powerful stuff. comes with the lyrics so you can sing.

okay it really doesn't rock but late at night with some of your closest friends (after watching an NKOTB collection of videos) it might be the most hilarious thing ever.
