I've had several people comment elsewhere that Ty had mentioned race stuff before, so I'm sticking with the race card theory. I don't think he's ever mentioned anything about being gay.

when Ty played the race card, Tim should have just said "dude you fucked up the chorus to one of our best songs" and "you sing more like Al Green than a rock singer". It was pretty apparent for the last 4 or 5 weeks he was not going to be the guy, bottom 3 or not.

As Deep said, all INXS needs ita guy who can carry 5 or 6 of their old tunes without making the die-hards vomit, that guy is Marty.

Mig is talented, but he is a show performer not a rock singer.
His pitch is underwhelming for such a trained performer and all his best stuff has been schmaltz, thus far. His original song blew ass chunks. It was stock rock radio 101 from 1987. I am not impressed, honestly.

JD is a tool, for someone with such schtick, he sure does take himself seriously. On top of that, a very average voice I know 50 people in my hometown who have a faux-Elvis as good as his.
They are keeping him around to boost TV ratings. Terrible.

Jordis would be better off in the vein of a Michelle Branch or an Alanis Morissette, off doing her own thing and being able to sing within the confines of her limited voice, although it is a nice limited voice. She doesn't really have the chops, when it comes down to it, especially to front a band with a stockpile of great songs. Not the right fit, at all.

Susie is another good talent without the chops to front this band.
To perform a song like Bohemian Rhapsody, be able to carry the tune and still be so underwhelming to me, I think she doesn't have "it" at all. I do like her voice, she's just not suited for this.

Of this bunch, while marginally talented in spots and gifted in others, Marty is the only one who could front this band and not get laughed off the stage. He sang Don't Change better than anyone else has performed an INXS song. Jordis was TERRIBLE on the INXS song, JD was worse. Mig is vastly overrated, and Suzie just doesn't have the right voice, she has sang the INXS decent.

So I'd say Marty is the easy choice, and if INXS wants to go out of the box, go with Suzie the other 3 don't bring anything they couldn't get from doing another nationwide search and turning up some good and marginal talents.

Overall I am not only saddened by INXS choice to go about it this way, it doesn't really surprise me, it is at the least a gimmick to get attention. And in the end, I think you gotta go with the guy who can sing as close to Hutch as possible, or else nobody is going to buy a fuckign ticket. And you gotta get a voice to suit your music, and I think he is the only one to fit the bill even if it is a stretch. He's raspy, because he's rough around the edges. He at least resembles a rock singer and not a Vegas performer or a mid tempo frontwoman with bluesy chops.

i think u2 should allow their song to be used, at least stuck ina moment since it was for michael. it is more of a licensing thing why u2 songs haven't been used so far. i am still solid behind mig although none of them are perfect fits for the band, no one can replace michael. mig is too mellow (bon jovi-ey or savage garden stuff), marty is too ordinary rocker type (creed, live, lifehouse style), and jd's attitude is wrong and his talent is mediocre at best without vocal range. the lesser of the evil is mig.
