Tickets at box office question

Are they cosistently releasing tix the day of the show? I want to go to Nov Staples and I'm trying to decide if I should try my luck or take out a second mortgage to buy on e-bay.

By the way, I'm loving this forum. You all make me feel normal in my long time obsession with U2. Thanks for that

Most of the time a few tickets will go on sale a few hours before the show starts. I've heard two stories, I'm not sure which is true.

1) U2 does this on purpose to foil scalpers

2) Clearchannel, Ticketmaster and other middlemen hold on to a share of tickets to give out to clients and other corporate leaches. Most of the time they have extras left over which go back out on to the market on the day of the show.

Anyways .. the number of tickets vary. Sometimes it's a couple of hundred ...sometimes just 10 or less. On the last tour I hung around the box office and managed to get a single ticket for myself.
