Okay so this is close enough to the end of the year. Don't bother listing Passengers.

My latest ranking:
Achtung Baby
The Joshua Tree
Songs of Innocence
POP
All that you can't leave behind
War
Zooropa
No line on the horizon
The Unforgettable Fire
Boy
Rattle and Hum
How to dismantle an atomic bomb
October

Not too much change for me except I rated POP a little higher.

The end of the last ranking after the new album honeymoon was:

Achtung Baby
The Joshua Tree
The Unforgettable Fire
Zooropa
Songs of Innocence
Pop
War
Boy
All That You Can't Leave Behind
No Line On the Horizon
Rattle and Hum
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
October

I'll tally this next round.

Well, clearly the honeymoon is not over.
For some people, there needs to be another album for the honeymoon to be over.

Achtung Baby
The Joshua Tree
Zooropa
Pop
All That You Can't Leave Behind
The Unforgettable Fire
Songs of Innocence
No Line on the Horizon
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
Rattle and Hum
War
Boy
October

Just drop it later then and make mine a 13 album list, I always want to give the album extra love.

Its mad how peoples opinions are different. Id even consider putting SOI third,i just dont stop listening to it. I still think its to early to rank it though

Plus i hate passengers, ive tried to like it but i just cant. Thom Yorkes solo stuff is the same (i love radiohead)

Strictly based on what I like, not what it's best:

1. Achtung Baby
2. The Joshua Tree
3. SOI
4. Unforgettable fire
5. All that you can't leave behind
6. POP
7. Zooropa
8. Rattle and Hum
9. How to dismantle an atomic bomb
10. War

9. Bomb
10. ATYCLB
11. No Line on the Horizon
12. Rattle and Hum
13. October

Easy for me to rank 1-6. Really hard to rank 9-12.

Something like that I guess. The top 5 has been pretty stable for a couple years, the next three shuffle around quite a bit as do the last five.

Yeah, I'm confident to say that the overwhelming majority of people on this forum and other U2 forums would rank SOI higher(much higher) than passengers. Not to mention there is a sizable portion on these forums that don't even bother listing Passengers because they don't consider it a U2 album(or don't want to because it's so bad like me).

As for SOI, I can't stop listening to it either. It may very well fall over time but not too far on my list.

While I don't agree that NLOTH is #2, im glad you like it and it's held over for you. It seems to have fallen on a lot of people's list, so it is cool to see some love for it.

It's an album for me that after 3-6 months I didn't have the urge to go back and listen to songs other than Magnificent, Breathe and MOS. With that said, I can understand how some would love this album(and POP) even though I consider both to be meh.

I really wish I could get more into 00's U2, but it really just doesn't speak to me like the older stuff.

If I had to put Passengers in there it would be between War and SOI.

Funny thing is, I've loved it from the start. People kept telling me it was the novelty, my opinion will change after a while, I just love it cause it's new material.... yet with SOI I have the complete opposite. I just feel meh throughout the album and have stopped listening pretty quickly, while every time a NLOTH song comes on my ipod (well except magnificent and cedars) I get excited again. There's only two duds on the record, which is quite rare for me.

It still baffles me they were capable of producing a song like MOS this late in their career. Definitely their best this century.

Pop is special to me because it is so different. I absolutely love Mofo to death, and Discotheque, LNOE and Do you feel loved are great fun songs. Then with serious stuff like Gone and Please, damn. I kinda like IGWSHA as well, though on other days it's kinda slow, and WUDM is good too. I don't really care for Miami or The Playboy mansion, but they're not the worst songs U2 have made, so they don't drag the album down much. :)

Same as it ever was + one...

01. The Unforgettable Fire
02. The Joshua Tree
03. Achtung Baby
04. October
05. No Line On The Horizon

12. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
13. All That You Can't Leave Behind
14. Songs Of Innocence

Well, the two albums aren't remotely alike. It's not like putting a Sgt. Peppers tribute album over Sgt. Peppers. Just because a consensus exists doesn't mean that all tastes conform to it.
