Wake Up

Baby finds it hard to get up anymore
sun shields her tired eyes, blinds her from the misery

she kicks the child inside of her until it dies
and wrestles the blood from the needle

find her an answer soon
someday the rain won't fall
you won't tear the skin off scratchy fists
and find relief in darkened bones

I know they won't find me here
won't try to steer clear from here
cry and beg to be taken away from here

life is the only thing I have left
take it if you think it would set me free
