At some point, Eno will release a "solo" album consisting entirely of instrumental versions of unreleased U2 songs he produced.

Agreed. Obviously, Bono and Gavin are pretty good friends, so I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility for one to "donate" a song to the other...
EDIT: Also, I'm really loving the clip of the song. Sounds like Unforgettable Fire-style songwriting with the sonic palette of Zooropa. At least, that's what I could get from hearing 30 seconds of it.
