Just a note of clarification here: Mao Zedong (or Tse-Tung) was the Chinese president from 1949 until his death in 1976.

You know, I originally had typed Chinese, but then I started thinking about "Chairman Mao" from that Beatles song, so Vietnam got in my head, and I didn't really feel like Googling it....so thank you.

Yes to both questions. There will be 3 in the final. And once one of the smilies goes up by 20 votes, that battle is over and we start a new one. Otherwise it would take something like 90 days to do the whole tourney.
