Hmph. Bono, Edge and the 'other two'. Their bandmates, like there is Bono and Edge and 14 other people in the band. Whatever.

I think I need to hit the Spotted Pig sometime.
 
^hmm, I know right? It's like that gossip site only had tags for Bono and The Edge. Sheesh. Now, if they had pics, I could have forgiven them...
 
:laugh: wow, 3.30am till 8.30? That's one hell of a party! Sure hope there are pictures of the drunk band rolling outta there!

And Hand0Lotion, they like NYC because Bono has a house there. No hotel stuff, so nice and easy. :) It's their base in North America. And they are the chauffeurs, the band gets driven around when they're on tour in rental cars with drivers. Probably still the same old black Escalades and Navigators.

Lol an Escalade must be as common as a yellow cab when driving it in NY they must be everywhere.
 
I think Edge and Larry also own homes in NYC. And probably easier to get to Europe (France for Bono and Edge) and Ireland for Larry. I have no idea where Adam goes. I think a purple castle in the sky for all I know.

There was plenty of room at my Econo Lodge guys. And there was a swanky bar attached AND a pool. No need to rush to NYC.
 
wasn't there this mention somewhere about Adam not hanging in NYC as much (as before? as the rest of them?) because it is quite troublesome with his visa issues? Something about his airport marijuana record-but-not-really-record all those years back?

Help me out on this one, I'm really fuzzy about it.

Or does Adam have an NYC house that he let Steve Lillywhite borrow for a week or two once? I'm just pulling at scraps of my memory here. Sorry:doh:

My memory serves he had like a one bedroom or something? Thought remembered couple years back when tour was beginning they would fly back to NYC after many gigs..sort of their home base. They were doing diaries on U2.com, and Adam did one from the apartment.

Or I may be wrong lol

Adam once was refused entrance at NYC because of the marijuana record, which was in the early 90s I think. The incident happened august 6, 1989. Yes there's a reason I remember that exact date so well. :wink:

But I don't recall when he was refused entrance. :hmm: Perhaps it was in BP Fallon's book or U2ATEOTW.

They all own homes in or near NYC. Bono does co-own the Spotted Pig and they have a private room upstairs for parties. They must have flown home right after Moncton.

Sad news. Jo Clayton (Adam's Mum) has passed. :sad:


U2'S Adam Clayton choked back the tears at his mother's funeral.

Bono and The Edge comforted the bass player at a moving ceremony for his his mum Jo.

The life of the former air hostess was celebrated in the small town of Foxford, Co Mayo, where Jo lived with her husband Brian for over a decade.

Adam's bandmates attended the Church of Ireland service in the Straide parish with their families yesterday ahead of the cremation, which takes place in Glasnevin Crematorium in Dublin today.

A clearly distraught Adam (51) remained silent during the ceremony -- the Rev Andrea Wills, who officiated, said the whole family were going through a very difficult time.

"It is a terribly sad time for the Clayton family," she said.

The U2 star kept his head bowed and his eyes to the floor as he followed his mother's coffin into the church.

"It was a small, private service for family and friends," Ms Wills said.

"I delivered the service myself, no one else spoke.

"Jo's favourite hymns were played."

Adam was with his family, his French girlfriend, their baby son, and there were around 30 mourners inside.




Private

His family moved to Dublin from England when Adam was five.

"Jo has been living in the area for well over 15 years," Ms Wills said.

"She also had a foreign home. They were semi-resident here," she added.

While Jo was very private about her famous son's life and avoided giving interviews, she encouraged his passion for music by buying him a bass guitar when he was a boy.
