Excerpt:

The National Football League has turned down an offer by Bono to perform during its Super Bowl halftime show, which he had hoped to use as a pitch to generate support to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa.

There's another reason for me not to watch the superbowl.

Guess you haven't seen the longass thread we had on this on EYKIW. It seems some of us didn't think this was a good idea for the images of Bono, U2, or the Cause. Come on, Bono with J-Lo, what a joke! He best serves his cause with the politicians or associated with more respectable people. Also, U2 just did the show 2 years ago and they aren't going to have the same person back so soon. Though for some unknown reason my radio station dj said yesterday that U2 would be providing the halftime entertainment:scratch:

No. If I do a search on something, and don't get pertinent results, I don't go hunting for it. :p

But now that I think about it, I think you're right about not mixing U2 with "lesser" celebs ;)
