Bono Interviewed For Mexican Teleton

Every year on the first weekend of december, a Teleton takes place in Mexico to raise money to build rehab centers for handicaped children.

Just a couple of hours ago Bono was interviewed for the Teleton by phone.

He mentioned he loves Mexico, that Teleton is a very important day for our country, and he said that he admires the work of mexicans in this kind of matters.

He said in spanish a few lines of a Jorge Luis Borges poem.

” La vida está hecha de momentos, vive el ahora. Si pudiera volver a vivir empezaría a caminar descalzo en primavera y así terminaría en el otoño”.

(Life is made of moments, live the now. If I could live again, I would start barefoot in spring and I would finish autum that way.)

Bono in Mexican Telethon

Sorry if I post this on the wrong forum...

Today in Mexico there is a telethon for the ill children, and via telephone Bono called to express what he feels about it... at the end he begins to read a poem by a popular Latin American writer and he speaks really good!!! here's a clip:

It's incomplete, but you can hear Bono speaking spanish...

Also he donated some money for the cause, the amount is kept in secret..

Thanks for the link

That must have been a nice surprise for you guys in Mexico. It's good that Bono gives his support to a noble cause like this.

And that poem is really beautiful :)
