He left on Tuesday, he gave his phone interview to New Zealand radio while he was on the way to the airport to start making his way home.

Doesn't make it any less terrible for the people who were affected, but the cyclone was far from Sydney and most all the cities they were going to play anyway, can see by this map that the cyclone was up around where Michigan-Wisconsin would be, while Sydney, Melbourne are below Louisiana, Mississippi, Adelaide around north Texas and Brisbane around western Virginia or North Carolina.
