wake me up when it's over...
cus it is boring? None of these people inspire me to watch any kind of debate let alone vote for them...
I will say that I only mildly dislike Dion and Layton while I truly despise Harper... Those fucking commercials of his make me want to harm myself and others
But each election on its own is important, with the possibility of setting the country on a different course.
wow. these just made me feel better about my own country.
he's so douchey.
thank you, Canada.

that last line in the second commercial seriously gives me the dry-heaves: "I'll be voting for the first time and I'll be voting for Stephen Harper"
No, no, the best is that woman who just randomly says "I like Stephen Harper because he has two young children" apropos of absolutely nothing at all.
I will give Harper and the Conservatives some credit, in that they are airing ads, thus far, that make no mention of the other political parties. Syrupy sweet and vomit inducing, certainly, but it's all Harper and all Conservative.
Or maybe the attack ads will come later?
Anti-Liberal attack ads by the Conservatives have been airing here off and on for a good 6 or 8 months now. Very eyeroll-worthy, when an election was months from being called. A pre-preemptive strike, I guess.
I guess I missed those. "Credit" revoked.
If but I doubt that Ignatieff would be any less popular than Dion is in his own province.
Why would Ignatieff be unpopular in Quebec? Is it because he's a relative unknown having only been in politics a few years?
I just moved to Etobicoke last month so got to see him this past weekend at a local fair. He's a natural when it comes to schmoozing that's for sure
Anyway, my personal prediction is that the Conservatives will win, Dion will be out, and Iggy will be the next PM

I've read up on the guy and watched his speeches, he's intelligent, but not the drone-on-put-you-to-sleep intelligent Harper and Dion are. He can actually bring out some emotion in voters. I'm actually hoping that the Libs lose but they can't lose too badly then I'd have to wait for four more years to see Iggy win the leadership.
Can you help me understand your desire to be fired up by politicians? For me, at the end of the day, it's all about the policies and I couldn't care less if someone's speeches put me to sleep or not. If someone has sound policies, irrespective of their speaking style, then I'm all for them.
Remember in 2000 many Americans said they'd prefer having a beer with George W. Bush instead of Al Gore. And look where that got them.
I've met Dion on numerous occasions and found him to be sincere in his desire to make a difference and enact change in the country. Whether or not he's a "leader" in the traditional sense of the word is debatable. But I believe that he would do a lot more good for Canada than Harper ever will, so I sincerely hope there will be a Liberal minority, at least.
I remember being really impressed with Ignatieff during the time surrounding the Liberal leadership convention, though, and it's surprising to me that the rather dull Dion (sorry, BoMac!)
