In Brief:...U2 sing for freedom...


A three-CD set from last November's Nelson Mandela 46664 Freedom Concert will be released this spring along with a DVD from the event. U2's BONO and the EDGE performed a new song, "American Prayer," with BEYONCE at the event, and they also collaborated on "46664 (A Long Walk to Freedom)" (co-written by the late JOE STRUMMER) with DAVE STEWART. JIMMY CLIFF, PETER GABRIEL, ANASTACIA and members of QUEEN were also among the performers . . .

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THIS CD!:yes

As a longtime activist for Africa (from the anti-apartheid struggle to the current struggles that DATA and others are waging), I was COMPLETELY in awe of this concert. All the musicians who participated were sincere and motivated to help Africa and to honor Nelson Mandela.

I hope we ALL purchase this CD when it comes out to help improve the future for Africa. It should help fill the void while we all are waiting for the new U2 CD.
