Bono is honoured at Meteor Awards
Bono was honoured for his humanitarian work around the globe at the 3rd Meteor Ireland Music Awards ceremony, which was held at the Point Depot in Dublin last night.
The U2 frontman was a double winner on the night as U2 were named Best Group.
'Skylarkin' by the late Mic Christopher won Best Album, while The Thrills took the award for Best Newcomer.
Carly Hennessy was named Best Female Singer and Mundy won Best Male Singer.
Other winners included Westlife (Best Pop Act), Eminem (Best International Male) and Avril Lavigne (Best International Female).
Bono used the ceremony to ask why millions of people were not out on the streets protesting about the number of Africans dying from Aids.
Bob Geldof was given a Lifetime Achievement award and he said that it was the first time ever that his music had won an award in Ireland.
Colin Farrell, Samantha Mumba, Sharon and Jim Corr, Party Boy from 'Jackass' and 'Big Brother' star Brian Dowling were just some of the celebrities who turned out for one of the music industry's most glittering nights of the year.
